Guest guest
Julie we are here to help you. Here's another one. That Marshmello fluff stuff by Kraft is a toss out too. Toss the Altoids while you are at it. Hard to believe, huh? Donna Julie Braswell <abnjb wrote:OK, I'm off to clean out my boxes of JELL-O. That is GROSS!!!! EWE!!! HURL!!!! YUCK!!! HURL AGAIN!!! get the picture? I'm grossed out! I had no idea about that! Julie It is surprising how much candy contains gelatin. If you want to avoid eating hoofs, start reading those labels. Ones I can think of off the top of my head... marshmallows, Skittles, Starburst. One probably should not be eating that kind of candy anyway. There are some veggie marshmallows out there, though. I got some recently from a Massachusetts company called Tiny Dancer, I think. Shoot, that's not right. That's an Elton John song. I have seen this company's products at Whole Foods lately. If anyone is interested, I can check at home as I still have some left. Just in time for hot cocoa season! -Craige On 10/12/05, purplepassion <thelilacflower wrote: > > Oh Laura, I know you are a new vegetarian and there are so many things you > wouldn't believe contain animals products. . I know marshmallows have gelatin, but the fluff doesn't need to set up... it's not vegan (egg white), but I think it's vegetarian. Yup, checked the Kraft site... Ingredients: CORN SYRUP, SUGAR, WATER, EGG WHITES, CREAM OF TARTAR, ARTIFICIAL AND NATURAL FLAVOR, XANTHAN GUM ARTIFICIAL COLOR (INCLUDES BLUE 1). Well, except you don't know what the " natural " flavor is. Many times that is animal derived. If someone really wants to eat that stuff, it's probably pretty easy to make with the first five ingredients. Denise
