Guest guest
I just tried a vegan recipe for them... so far, they taste good, but I just finished whipping the syrup, so they have not set up yet. When they do, I'll see how they are and post the recipe I used... (inspired by the conversation, and the fact that my co-worker made " regular " ones yesterday) *marshmallowhugs* Amy
Guest guest
No good this time - they're tasty, but the texture is somewhere between Swedish fish and gummy bear... :-7 I think I need to use less agar than listed. I'll try again eventually. > I just tried a vegan recipe for them... so far, they taste good, but I > just finished whipping the syrup, so they have not set up yet. Guest guest
> hmmm.. but how is the taste?? you could be inventing something new! > =) The taste was ok, sweet, vanilla... but it really didn't seem to go with the texture at all. I think I'll try it again later with less agar... but thanks for the vote of confidence! *hugs* Amy

Guest guest
Marshmallow recipe with some pics: http://www.livejournal.com/community/vegancooking/865753.html for the " vegan geletain " there are other posts talking about how agar does not work, and that you have to find Kojel (FYI Emes Kosher Geletain is not vegetarian or vegan...it has fish in it!) --- Jenni Billings <jenni wrote: > =) oh you know I'm confident! > > maybe you need to float them in some hot cocoa??? =) > > > > > On Friday, October 14, 2005, at 06:48 PM, Amy wrote: > > > > hmmm.. but how is the taste?? you could be > inventing something new! > > > =) > > > > The taste was ok, sweet, vanilla... but it really > didn't seem to go > > with the texture at all.
