I just tried a vegan recipe for them... so far, they taste good, but I

just finished whipping the syrup, so they have not set up yet. When

they do, I'll see how they are and post the recipe I used...

 

(inspired by the conversation, and the fact that my co-worker made

" regular " ones yesterday)

No good this time - they're tasty, but the texture is somewhere

between Swedish fish and gummy bear... :-7 I think I need to use less

agar than listed. I'll try again eventually.

The taste was ok, sweet, vanilla... but it really didn't seem to go

with the texture at all. I think I'll try it again later with less

agar... but thanks for the vote of confidence!

about how agar does not work, and that you have to

find Kojel (FYI Emes Kosher Geletain is not vegetarian

or vegan...it has fish in it!)
