That is so disgusting. I bought it once and just didn't like it. Too rich and

reminded me of cream. I stick with rice milk most of the time, it's thin and

doesn't remind me of milk.

Thank you Gary, you really enlighten us with your well researched information!

Always valuable posts. Donna

and you are right, and they are sending me my three bucks in the mail. Ya buy

some soymilk, and you get sheep fat, WTF.

I am really angry.

Thanks so much Gary for keeping us informed!!

Re: another chocolate milk

Hi,

Unfortunately 8th Continent has vit D3

in it (see below) and may also contain

GMOs. (gene modified organisms - in other

words I think the soy is GMO)

Gary

http://www.geocities.com/~alyza/food/food.html

" If you, like me, don't want animal products or

derivatives in your soy milk, be sure that the vitamin

D is listed as D2. If the product just has D, it may

be D3 which comes from lanolin (the fat from sheep's

wool). Unforturnaly, 8th Continent uses D3. (VegNews,

June 2005 Issue) My favorite soy milk, Silk, uses D2,

thankfully. "

" just to let people know, 8th continent soymilk is NOT

vegan. it contains vitamin D3, which is derived from

lanolin. (sheep wool oil) "

I'm horrified! Why do companies who are selling things to

vegetarians, (who else is drinking soy milk?) sneak in animal

derivatives?! I know you have to read labels, but this seems

purposefully deceptive! Blah! I like Silk anyhow!

lots of women are adding soymilk for reducing hot flashes... whether

they're veg or not...

Actually many non-veg people who are lactose intolerant drink soy

milk, as well as other dairy alternatives. The grocery stores here all

carry soy milk, even in the small towns.

Here is a quote from 8th Continent's website: " We're a joint venture

between DuPont and General Mills. " Do I need to say anymore?

I am going to check out Organic Valley brand, chocolate

specifically...I wasn't crazy about Slk Choc. but like the plain or

vanilla for cereal. Soy milk has come along way from the little

vacuum sealed cartons, when i dabbled with vegetarianism 15 years

ago!
