Guest guest
I don't usually peel mine (do wash them very well, though). Of course, you then have to use a food mill, but it gives the applesauce a nice (natural), pink color. TM
Guest guest
> Does anyone know how to make applesauce? Wash, peel and chop sweet apples. Put about 1 inch of water in the bottom of a big, heavy-bottomed pot and add the apples. Put the lid on, and the heat on high. When it gets really going, turn it to medium high until the apples are soft through and through. When they are really soft, mash with a potato masher or use a food mill. I like mine plain, but lots of folks would add cinnamon at this point.

Guest guest
HI J Lynn: Cut up some apples into chunks...Peel first if you want to.. I usually put the apples into some water with a little bit of lemon juice so they don't turn brown. When you are done cutting the apples add them with some of the lemon water to a pot bring to a boil and then simmer. After they have simmered for a while you can start the mash them with the back of your spoon. I also add cinnamon to this.. I don't add sugar but you can if you wish. When it gets to the consistency you like it is done. Sorry I don't have a real recipe for this I jut do it by feel. Gayle
