Garlic Broccoli with Jalapeno

Garlic Broccoli

with Jalapeno

 

1 lb. broccoli florets

2 tsps. unsalted butter

2

tsps. olive oil

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 jalapeno pepper, seeded and

minced

1/2 tsp. salt

 

Place broccoli in a steamer basket over boiling

water. Cover saucepan and steam about 5 minutes, or until bright green and

almost tender. While broccoli is steaming, melt butter in oil in a heavy skillet

over medium low heat. Cook garlic 2 minutes, stirring frequently until golden.

Do not brown. Stir in jalapeno pepper. Remove from heat. Transfer broccoli to

skillet with garlic butter. Heat over medium low heat. Season with salt and

pepper to taste. Toss until broccoli is coated with butter.  Serves

4.
