I hadn't tried the dish yet so I called my friend who is Indian and she told me

only use 2 tsps. if the dish is going to be cooked, if raw only use a pinch or 2

because the flavor will be way to strong. When its cooked its a mild onion

garlic leek flavor. So if I were you I would use 1 pinch taste and if you think

you want another add it. boy am I glad I called her lol

 

I'm having a Indian dinner in a few weeks and was going to make the dish as is.
