Guest guest
This group is all about publishing defamatory statements/articles about animal rights/welfare orgs. They are supported by restaurant lobbies, etc., who have an obvious agenda. As with anything, look what groups are behind and funding. Guest guest
That website is by The Center for Consumer " Freedom, " whose purpose is to fight nonprofit organizations which interfere with the profits of meat, alcohol, tobacco and gambling industries. They even fight MADD, and insist that being overweight is not unhealthy. They also seem to have a problem with simple math. As I read the documents that they posted, the 2008 euthanasia rate was 20.6% (2,369 euthanized out of 10,016). In 2007 it was 26% 1815/8362) and 2006 it was 31% (2981/9637). Also, those same documents show that PETA sterilizes almost 100% of the domestic animals it takes in, before they are released - they are doing what they can to control the overpopulation problems that others create and leave for them to deal with. PETA recently posted a good article about their euthanasia practices on their website at http://blog.peta.org/archives/2009/03/why_we_euthaniz.php Andrew
Guest guest
Hi everyone: I wanted to follow up. I got a lot of great responses and links to use. On FB, my friend's post received many negative responds to PETA. Then I placed 2 links and kept it simple. 1. Why PETA does it (told people to please be ware as there may be images they might not be able to stomach) 2. Info on the group that posts these articles. I let the crowd make their own assumptions to these 2 links. After I posted these 2 links, I received much appreciation / understanding. Then I saw another person verify my links. Many of my friends are unaware. So, I appreciate the information many of you sent. It helped educate others. I see these links getting posted as opportunity to help make the unaware, aware. I do not see them as negative. If it didn't get posted, I wouldn't get the opportunity to help a few other people check out peta's website (who normally would not). cheers everyone!
