Guest guest
Hi everyone,The Activist Showcase we had last weekend was awesome! We had about 50 people attend, and about 15 people presented the campaigns or projects they're either working on or thinking about. Then people who were interested in being involved in or supporting those projects spoke to the speakers to exchange contact information and ideas. It was great! We have so many great activists in the Bay Area! And we've already had a bunch of people get involved in new things in the past week-- we had a great KFC protest yesterday, people creating a restaurant outreach campaign, creating an interactive website for local activists to blog about what they're doing, and people gathering signatures for the veg school lunches campaign for PCRM -- and that's just what I know has come out of this past week! For those who attended, so great to have you there! For those who couldn't be there, we missed you! A lot of people suggested we have this type of event every couple of months or so for people to connect and get to know each other, and to find out what people are working on and how people can collaborate. If you weren't able to attend, didn't speak and wanted to, or have an idea or campaign you'd like to publicize, send out an email to this list and tell us about it! Let's inspire and support each other! Everyone is encouraged to keep us posted on what is produced as a result of the event too! Thanks to Lindsay Vurek, below is a list of all the speakers, a brief description of the campaigns they spoke about, and their contact info if you'd like to connect with them. See the info below!
