Guest guest
Robert,The Supreme Master is a religious leader with followers world-wide. She loves animals and has dozens of animal companions - mostly birds, I think - and promotes a vegan diet for health, environment, and compassionate reasons. Her organization operates many vegan restaurants all around the world, including Vegetarian House in downtown San Jose and the newer chain of Loving Hut restaurants sprinkled around the Bay Area. The Milpitas location is very close to my house and I love the place. I have no stance on the religious aspects of their operation, as I am not a religious person myself. But lately they've really been taking advantage of the "green movement" to further their pro-vegan message, which is just great if you ask me. Good to hear they've invested in a billboard too.-Mike Borg Robert Anderson <sfautocad Sent: Wednesday, April 22, 2009 7:31:32 PM Supreme Master TV - Go Veg billboard I just wanted to share with the community that on the way home from work tonight, I passed by a billboard on highway 80 in Vallejo, probably seen by tens of thousands of motorists a day, was a billboard that read: "Go Veg, Save the Planet". It was quite a surprise to see, thought I'd share because it sure put a smile on my face. It was sponsored by http://suprememastertv.com/ Someone I have never heard of. On the front page of the site, there's a video telling how a Vegan diet dramatically helps the planet, no surprise to us.. =) http://suprememaste rtv.com/bbs/ board.php? bo_table= sos_video & wr_id=95 & goto_url= & url=link1_0 On another note, not sure how many people watch Celebrity Apprentice, it's a guilty pleasure for me, but one of the contestents, Herschel Walker, a very healthy looking famous football player, said he did not eat meat, which was repeated, and I'm sure opened a lot of peoples eyes.. http://www.ecorazzi.com/2009/04/21/nfl-superstar-herschel-walker-is-a-proud-vegetarian/ Thanks for reading, Robert "My signature" Please s below to help feed an animal in a shelter and a chimp! Guest guest
I detect no difference in food quality/taste between the two locations. The differences are all in decor. My favorites are the mu shu rolls, the pad thai, and the deep fried ice cream for dessert!-Mike Borg William Beazley <wbeazleyiiiMichael Borg <corradoborg; Robert Anderson <sfautocad; Sent: Friday, April 24, 2009 3:00:18 PMRe: Supreme Master TV - Go Veg billboard so, mike, how would you compare the food at their milpitas location to that of their san jose one? any favorite dishes? been meaning to go.... ~will Michael Borg <corradoborgRobert Anderson <sfautocad; Sent: Wednesday, April 22, 2009 10:48:36 PMRe: Supreme Master TV - Go Veg billboard Robert,The Supreme Master is a religious leader with followers world-wide. Guest guest
I just went to the SF location, Loving Hut on Stockton, for my birthday last night and found it better than the San Jose one on Santa Clara. Favorite dish? There was one with soy chunks, goji berries, red dates that was sooooooo yummy! I really liked their rice too. (The raspberry cake was disappointing.) Peace, Dan > how would you compare the food at their milpitas location > to that of their san jose one? > > any favorite dishes? been meaning to go.... Guest guest
Of all the restaurants in the Bay Area that follow the Supreme Master, my favorite is Merit Vegetarian in Sunnyvale. This is part of the "family" of restaurants with similar food to the original Golden Lotus/Golden Era. And I agree with earlier sentiments - I'm not into their religion, but their food is definitely yummy. Ultimate Guide info http://bayareaveg.org/ug/display.htm?id=800 By the way, when BAVeg had its tour to Animal Place a couple of weekends ago, Supreme Master TV was there filming an interview with AP founder Kim Sturla ... Cheers, Tammy My two cents, vegan-style .. - today or read it on GenerationV.org Don't miss out on these awesome Bay Area Vegetarians events! 05/02 Have a Heart, Go Veg Leafleting & Lunch - SF 05/03 Food for Thought Book Club: Animals Rights Philosophy & Picnic - SF 05/30 Veg Outreach & Education at Maker Faire - San Mateo County Fairgrounds
