Some Very Cool (even for shy people) Volunteer Opportunities

Hello BAV!Thanks for two *fabulous* meetings. We had Pride meetings on Sunday May 31 and Saturday June 6. Sunday's meeting ended with 100 decadent donated vegan baked goods from Shannon Carlson Organic Fine Arts Baking. YUMMMMMMM. Saturday's meeting was catered by the most amazing veg chef Jeff Hoffman, from the spinach dip to the gingerbread cupcakes. Scrumptious!

We had a ton of new people show up. We now have over 75 people signed up to walk in the San Francisco Pride Parade on Sunday 28, representing vegetarianism. And another great team of 15 people ready to work the BAV booth on Saturday the 27th!

We're busy making and ordering costumes, ordering 20,000 pieces of veg lit (for real), and getting all the details worked out. If you think you're too shy to be in the parade or in the booth, don't feel left out. You can still be a part of the best weekend of the year!

A few important jobs are left:1. We need someone to drive the truck in the parade. 2. We need people to help deliver boxes of literature both Saturday morning and Sunday morning. You can be done by 9:00 a.m. and still say you had a huge part in Pride!

3. We need people to help break down the booth and store lit on Saturday evening.4. We need a parking spot in San Francisco. We'll be decorating the truck on Saturday and we need a place to decorate it and then store it until Sunday morning. The best situation in the world would be finding a superstar volunteer who can " adopt " the truck all weekend. You could store it on Saturday and drive it on Sunday morning. It will be a 16 foot flatbed truck and you do not need a special license to drive it (although you do, of course, need a current license).
