Hi all,

The kind folks at Virgin could not tell me whether they had vegan options on

their flights. Any chance anyone here has flown Virgin and can tell me if I have

to bring my own food or not? Thanks!

I've not flown Virgin before, and not any airline recently where they've

offered pre-order meals. But in the past, regardless of airline I've always

requested a VGML meal, and 97.5% of the meal always turns out to be vegan.

It's supposed to be all vegan, but some extra bits on the trays are often

get added at the last minute from the common pool by the flight attendants,

e.g. bread roll or a some snacky thing.

I almost always ring up a few days before and stress the VGML code and not

mention vegetarian or vegan as sometimes they'd change the meal to plain old

veggie, which is often something cheese.

Is this Virgin America or Virgin Atlantic? I've always wanted to try Virgin

Atlantic, and it would be interested to hear how it turns out for you - or

even hearing other stories or if the magic VGML code still works :D

Hope this helps, and good luck with the trip.

They have a few items that are vegan-friendly, but it's all somewhat

pricey so I end up bringing my own food anyway. Here's a press release

with a list of their menu items:
