Guest guest
Hi, has anyone been to their store locations? They just opened one in SF recently. I know they vegan choices. However, I am curious what percentage / how many of the selections on an average basis are vegan. If it is a significant number of vegan choices, then I would want to add them to the Ultimate Guide to assist folks in finding vegan ice cream. http://threetwinsicecream.com/locations.php From their website: Do you have vegan choices?Yes, we try to always have at least one sorbet and one rice milk or soy milk “ice cream.” Cheers, Tammy Check out the Ultimate Guide to Vegetarian Living in the San Francisco Bay Area ... veg foods, services, and more! http://www.bayareaveg.org/ug
Guest guest
I learned 3 new info from their web site: What's the difference between ice cream, sorbet and sherbet? According to federal law, ice cream is made with milk and contains between 10% and 18% milk fat. Sherbet contains between 1% and 2% milk fat. Sorbets do not contain milk fat, though they are not always vegan, as some manufacturers include egg whites. All sorbets from Three Twins are always vegan. Does your ice cream contain eggs? Yes, all of our ice creams and sherbets contain eggs. Our sorbets are all vegan and free of egg. == In summary, their sherbets contains milk and eggs.. Guest guest
I ahven't been to their new store yet but I have been to their booth at the Berkeley Farmers Market where they always have a vegan rice based ice cream. They told me they will be selling that at their SF store and possibly more. Guest guest
Hello, I just walked over to Three Twins Ice Cream. First of all, yay for fresh scooped vegan ice cream in my neighborhood. All of their products are organic. They did in fact have two vegan options: a rice milk based Mint Confetti (like a mint chip) and an Apricot Sorbet. They said they always had one sorbet and one non-dairy milk option (either rice or soy). Considering they only had about 6 or 8 varieties in total, I would think two vegan options is worth some credit. Also, their cones are vegan. I tried the Mint Confetti and it was delicious. I got a huge (single) cone for $3.25. I would definitely recommend checking it out. Guest guest
MY friend came over this weekend with an old fashioned ice cream maker from the 60's and we made our own amaaaaaaaaazing ice cream unlike any vegan ice cream i've ever had. we just used coconut milk, coconut flakes, agave, vanilla and crumbled up chocolate cookies. so creamy and unbelievably good. i may have to host a party soon just to share the goodness..... -joelle On Mon, Aug 3, 2009 at 6:49 PM, Dana Portnoy<dportno1 wrote: > > > Hello, > > I just walked over to Three Twins Ice Cream.
