Guest guest
sorry, I don't think Trader Joe's vegan chocolate chips or oatmeal cookies are good at all. However, hands down http://www.uncleeddiesvegancookies.com/cookies.html is way better/GREAT available around $4 a bag at SF Rainbow-sells 4 different flavors gotta try the peanut butter! and around $5 at various Whole Foods like Potreo Hills SF.-offers only 2 flavors == It's a family business. One family member is a vegan (he developed the recipe). The whole family is shocked how well the vegan cookie business is doing. They never expected that the cookies will be so good. This is a black family business, see photos of their kids. Too bad most of the family members are not veg at all. The dad's excuse is, " we have kids and it's hard for them to go veg. " == Can someone confirm: Someone said Uncle Eddies' DOES sell directly to Trader Joes. Trader Joes just repackage them. look, it's the same brown bag packaging (different formula?) (that's what Trader Joes did to Amy's enchalidas> Traders had it made less spicy plus sells it at l/2 the price!) Trader Joes and Uncle Eddies' both are in Southern CA == I was told that New World Veg will close any time BETWEEN Sept 1 to Sept 15, so there's no confirm day they will close. Most of the staff members are no longer there, so they are running with a skelton crew. I was told that cause I wanted to play a " last supper " party at NEw World. I think it would be great to have a vegan International Good Bye party. If this goes thru, I'll contact everyone. No guarantees but I'll try. == I uploaded over 4 photos of veg restaurants on Ultimate Guide.. look out for them and do me a favor, pls do more restaurant review in the Ultimate Guide. = coming vegan events: My friend lisa will do a dining out at Cafe Gratitude-Berkeley soon. Lisa will do a movie night featuring " Processed People' == I'm planning a mahjong party with L. but need teachers. If we get more helpers, Party will take place in mountain view. winnie , Ruchira Datta <Ruchira.Datta wrote: > > Trader Joe's Vegan Chocolate Chip Cookies are very good. Guest guest
The Trader Joe's vegan chocolate chip cookies are made by Uncle Eddie's and are exactly the same. Maybe you got stale ones at Trader Joe's? I have not seen a vegan oatmeal cookie at Trader Joe's. They do have the really good vegan trail mix cookies, which are also made by Uncle Eddie's. Guest guest
I was talking with a guy at Trader Joe's about this a few weeks back: they used to be made by Uncle Eddies, but no more. The new batches are pretty bad, in my opinion. On Thu, Aug 6, 2009 at 10:00 AM, Karen <karen wrote: The Trader Joe's vegan chocolate chip cookies are made by Uncle Eddie's and are exactly the same. Guest guest
I'm not so sure the cookies are still made by Uncle Eddie's. I know they were, but TJ's reformulated them in the last year, and are now very different in my opinion, and not in a good way. I've not tried the trail mix since noticing the change, but the choc-chip cookies are now more " cake " like - and are nothing like the Eddie's cookies I've bought recently. Guest guest
Since we're all "chipping in" here, when I first noticed the new formulation of TJ's vegan choc chip cookies I was very pleased and think they've improved in flavor and texture both. Guest guest
You know if you put Trader Joe's chocolate chip cookies in the oven for a little bit they are really yummy . I don't like them otherwise. -Natasha
