Hey All!

 

We need people in Congresswoman Barbara Lee's district (California's 9th

Congressional District, includes Oakland, Berkeley, and parts of Castro Valley,

see map here: http://lee.house.gov/?sectionid=8 & sectiontree=6,8) to write and

encourage her to co-sponsor the Great Ape Protection Act.

 

The Great Ape Protection Act (H.R. 1326) has just been reintroduced in Congress.

This legislation would end invasive research on the chimpanzees remaining in

laboratories, release federally owned chimpanzees to permanent sanctuaries, and

end federal funding for the breeding of federally owned chimpanzees. More info

I've attached a sample letter (if it doesn't come through, just email me and

I'll send it to you right away!). All you have to do is write it out (if you

need help putting it into your own words, just let me know! I can help with

that!) and then send it to:

Hand written letters are best, if possible.

 

It takes 5-10 minutes to do this and the letters have a HUGE impact on whether a

congressperson will sponsor this. Please send one and pass this on to all of
