Guest guest Posted November 21, 2009 Report Share Posted November 21, 2009 Hi all, There was a flurry of talk awhile ago about vegan cheeses ... we happened to be at Rainbow and decided to try some of the new (to us) vegan cheeses. We picked up the shredded Daiya in mozzarella, and the Teese in cheddar. The Daiya in mozzarella was good. For me, taste-wise, comparable to Follow Your Heart, except the makers of Daiya also unfortunately imbued it with that smelly cheese scent. Enjoyed it melted in the oven over sliced tomatoes on toast. However, if I were to buy vegan mozzarella cheese again, I'd go for FYH as that taste was comparable and FYH doesn't smell. I thought the Teese in cheddar was horrible. Despite the very strong smell, very underwhelming in flavor.
