Room for rent in VEGAN house in South Berkeley - Open May 23rd - $550/mo

We have a room opening up in our vegan house on May 23rd. Rent is $550 a month +

$625 deposit. Room okay for short term renters until end of June or for those

interested in staying in the house longer. (Most of us are planning on moving

out during the summer so the house would essentially become yours.) Rent for the

days rom May 23rd to 31st would be $142.

 

The current room for rent is pretty spacious, (approximately 18' x 11and1/2') is

at the front of the house and gets great sunlight. The room is semi-private as

it is actually part of the living room that has been sectioned off with

furniture and a curtain that hangs all the way down from the floor to the

ceiling.

 

The house has a large kitchen, living room and dining room. The kitchen comes

equipped with all kinds of equipment (blender, food processors, waffle iron,

popcorn popper, good chef knives, stand mixer, etc). You would share a bathroom

with 2 other people. There is a backyard with a small section that has been

okayed by the landlord as garden space. We haven't started a garden out there

yet despite our intentions to do so, but we would be pretty stoked if you moved

in and went crazy back there with your green thumb. Utilities are Comcast and

PGE. The landlord pays $100 of each water bill (which only comes every other

month) which means that we as a house usually pay between $13-30 tops for our

share. Oh yes, and we do have a washer and drier. Also, we are a TV free house,

but we all watch tv/movies on our computers via Netflix, etc so that is cool.

 

The house is super close to Ashby BART (3-5 minute walk and an even quicker bike

ride), Berkeley Bowl, Nomad Cafe, etc.

 

We are an all vegan house and we hope to stay that way, but we might make the

exception for an awesome vegetarian!

 

 

About the current housemates:

 

Mimi is a 24 year old vegan who has lived in the Bay Area for about a year. She

is currently teaching herself Spanish. She loves bike riding, rock climbing,

dancing, hiking, and other kinds of active things, but is currently on the

downlow due to a skiing injury. She also loves to play Scrabble and is pretty

bummed out that none of her current housemates share her joy for the game.

 

Jesse is a 30 year old environmental scientist, who can identify most of the

plants passed by on local hikes. He also loves bike riding and rock climbing and

can easily be dragged out of the house for a hike or climb.

 

Sam is 31 and is the mastermind behind http:// makerbeam.com/. He works from

home and keeps to himself a lot, but likes to cook up tasty smelling curries

when he is in the kitchen. He can also be seen riding a folding bike. He is an

avid Go player.
