Guest guest
Vegigran- Wow, that's thin! I'm 6' at 145lbs and all my friends are screaming that I'm way too underweight. I've never felt better in my life so I just blow them off - but at 125 lbs I would be concerned. Not trying to tell you how to run your business, just concerned, that's all, feel free to blow me off :>) I don't know if you are male or female, but females, in my opinion, seem to hold a lighter weight better than males at that height. Guest guest
Yeah, I'm a female! It's the same weight I was when I was in my twenties and feel the best at it. Females do have smaller muscles, but I do lift weights and exercise. Most of my family and friends my age are carrying much more weight, so I do look a little out of place. Guest guest
Hi all I don't soak any of my nuts either, eat at least one avocado per day minimum, a huge salad with dressing that contains both olive and flaxseed oil too. Other than that - I try to eat whatever my body seems to crave. I have no set eating " schedule " . It appears to be working well. I'm 5'6 " and weigh in at 105. (I went 100% raw in August 2004, at which time I weighed 135). I have folks tell me I am too thin, but ya know what? I simply don't let it bother me. If I felt bad it would be a concern, but I feel better than I've felt in years, and have heaps of energy. cheers terry rawfood , " Jesse Parris " <studio53@s...> wrote: > Vegigran- > > Wow, that's thin! Guest guest
Nothing really physical, just an overall disgruntledness commingled with my feeling good about being raw. There's just a lot of anger I guess at trying to stay raw and it translates to a heaviness of emotion that I identify as mental pain or detox. I suppose my body is adjusting to the diet too, although I don't sense anything. I know I have to rest frequently and let my mind unwind. A couple hours on the internet for example and I have to lay down and let my angry mind process itself back to quietude. Rich rawfood , ejohns9525@a... wrote: > Rich, > > What reactions do you have? Guest guest
Hi Lane, I think my weight has stabalized - not really sure tho as I haven't been to the gym in two weeks to step on a scale. It's funny actually - when eating SAD I used to be real concerned about that " number " and tried to weigh in every day just to be sure I wasn't gaining. For a time after going raw I was concerned about losing. Now I simply don't care -- its nice. I think the body knows what it supposed to weigh, and just goes there. So for now, I'm going to sit back and see what happens. cheers terry rawfood , " lane lynn " <lanie@p...> wrote: > Hi Terry. I'm glad to hear that. I keep losing weight eating like this. But listening to you, maybe it will be fine. I'd love to feel " better than I've felt in years " Did the weight finally stabilize or are you still losing. I've been raw since the end of Sept. 2004. I still seem to be dropping weignt. Guest guest
I just eat 'em in their fresh natural state. I don't soak 'em, and I don't use dehydrators or any other fance equipment. I just eat my raw food the way it comes. Yours in health, Lane - Persian rawfood Sunday, January 09, 2005 10:52 PM Re: [Raw Food] Re: UNpresoaked nuts/seeds: Just how indegestible are they? HI all with nuts and seeds they need to be soaked first to get rid of the enzyme inhibitors then you can dehydrate them, to dry them out, before eating. Guest guest
Hi Lane, Terry and others, When I stopped eating grains and ate just great amounts of fruits and nuts (unpresoaked), l gradually lost in 5 weeks 5 kilos (11lbs). Then my weight stopped at 44 kg (97 lbs). I'm 160 cm (5'3''). I hope I have calculated it well because I have never used these weights and measures: 1 pound = 454 grammes, 1 foot = 30,5 cm. I am not 100% raw at the moment. When I eat something cooked, then I gain a little what disappears again on eating raw. Guest guest
Hello Katka. Your post makes sense to me. Frederic Patenaude says, in Ras Secrets, that we are not meant to eat grains. We are herbavores. Grains are for birds. They are grainivores. I eat a simple raw diet without all the fancy spices and oils and such. I feel happy and sated. I do eat plenty of nuts, avocados and bananas. And I am not completly raw due to the nuts, although I will aim in that direction eventually. I lost ten pounds last Spring on the South Beach diet. and then have lost 17 more since going raw. That's 25 pounds in about 8 months. I find that the body loses some and then stops. When it's ready it will lose some more. I think I am still gonna lose some more before my body is finished. Happy Day everyone.
