I went raw on Septembe 24. About a month later I had blood word done. My

cholesterol had gone down. Now Two months later than the first test, I've had

another. I just compared notes. Since a month into raw foods until now, my

cholesterl has shot up from 200 to 239. Furthermore my triglerides have shot up

from one hundred something, to over three hundred. Can anyone explain this.?? I

thought I was getting so healthy! What a shock. Thankyou, Lane Lynn

The answer is simple Lynn. Stop asking why and just do what the body and you

know are best. It takes a year for the body to adjust so keep at it and in a

year go back and test your blood if that makes you happy! We often question

way too much when it comes to our wellness. God told us and made it

extremely simple. Its all about building and cleansing which equates to

living foods (building) and fasting (cleansing)

Incorrect bloodwork data? It's been known to happen... I've been raw a year and

have had simliar positive, but consistant results with my bloodwork.

I don't know this is best. I believe this is best. That's different. If it makes

my triglycerides shoot through the roof, maybe it's not the best after all. Wish

I knew.... Lane

Thanks Jesse. I was actually wondering if the blood work was flawed. I may even

have it redone. Thanks, Lane

Hi Lane,

I have read that high fruit and low fat consumption can sometimes lead to high

cholesterol and atherosclerosis. I'm not sure why this happens. How much fruit

are you eating? Are you including avocados, nuts, flax seeds, flax oil, etc.?

You can read about a recent study here. http://tinyurl.com/69r8n

Lane,

Here is some info from Dr. McDougall which you may find interesting. It's an

excerpt from a longer article at:

http://www.nealhendrickson.com/mcdougall/030100putamingelevatedtriglycerides.htm

" One special note for those of you who are trying to lower your triglycerides;

fruit raises triglycerides in sensitive people and needs to be severely limited

- at least for several weeks - in people trying to lower triglycerides.7 Fruit

(natural, dried, and as juice) is made of simple sugars and the primary sugar is

fructose "

i just saw a hemotologist for a different blood anomaly, but one that I had

tracked in lab results since 2000. the hematologist, one of the best in

california said that I was a victim of bad specimen collecting. he tested me a

month ago and it was normal. he tested me yesterday and it was normal.

something to note is that his lab is RIGHT THERE. the testtube does not need to

travel or be chilled, etc before testing. the blood does not have time to

coagulate in one end of the tube or another.

my suggestion is to find an MD that you trust (hahahaha...), but really, and

have them refer you to a hemotologist or even an oncologist with an onsite lab.

then u will be closer to true test result.

hth,
