Does anyone have a Harsch Crock Pot, and has experience in

fermenting vegetables? I've been reading about this pot and this

process, and am considering getting one of these, but would really

like to hear other people's opinions, before I decide if I want

to " take the plunge " .

Thanks,

Jack

Hi Jack,

Yes, I have a Harsch Crock Pot and it Rawks!! I found a site where

they have a great price. It is at

http://www.juicersforless.com/product_info.php/products_id/1875

Additionally, I found a fabulous web site where you can find recipes

and learn how to ferment veggies, etc. This site is sooo cool and

the guy has been fermenting food for years...

http://www.wildfermentation.com/makingsauerkraut.htm

Let me know what you think.....

I have only fermented cabbage once but it was soo delicious. There is

a little learning curve but its FUN and you cant mess up. It's all

good!!!

Peace,

You can ferment or culture vegetables without having to purchase a

special pot. And friend and I used a very large bowl, vegtables,

probiotics, a towel, something heavy and some darkness to make

delicious fermented vegis.

He now makes TONS of it and has vegis culturing all over his house.

Thank you for your reply. It seems like a very involved process for

me, but I'm still researching it.

I was interested in this, but that link led to a message that there

was no such group. Maybe they moved somewhere else to continue their

conversation...

Wow! I never thought about fermenting my own food.

This is wild. Imagine if there were a nuclear war and

you survived by living in a bomb shelter for a year. .

.. you could do this and maintain a live food diet by

eating sprouts and fermented food!

Once the food is fermented, how long does it keep?

I'ma have to look into this.

Hi Swing,

He just take whatever vegis, in whatever form, chopped, grated,

sliced ext. and adds things like garlic, ginger, various spices, (I

like crushed

cumin seeds), whatever strikes him at the time and just keeps mixing

and matching to created all different variations of cultured vegis.

Just give it a try and don't worry about making a mistake because that

is virtually impossible.

There is a that discusses cultured vegis called Microbial.

They would have a ton of info. and recipes for you.

peace & joy,

*Brigitte
