Guest guest
Hi, all. At one point Sunday afternoon I was getting pretty hungry and didn't have anything at the house that I was interested in. So, I went out and got a hamburger. Turns out, I could only eat half of it. Then, today I went out to lunch with my co-workers, and we each had the typical SAD meal - fried chicken, fried fish, french fries, and fried puffs (bread things you put honey on). Tasty, generally speaking, but once I got out of there and thought about it, I would have preferred something raw. And, now I'm kinda disappointed 'cause I'm going to have to wait several hours before I can eat anything else, so I won't get to enjoy my usual afternoon dose of guacamole. So, after a month I'm getting to the point where I actually prefer raw foods and can't handle much cooked food anymore. Is that a breakthrough? I don't know, but I'm feeling pretty good about it. Guest guest
Carolyn, we are all cheering you on so that you will not be able to think of eating cooked dead food...but actually crave the tasty raw foods. Do you have a raw recipe book? That really helps and you can make things ahead of time to have on hand. I like to make seed or nut pate's and mix them with some veggies and an chopped up avo for a quick salad...or use the pate as a dip. Guest guest
Can't speak for anyone else, but I considered that a breakthrough when it happened to me (and still happens--it's like my different cravings are leaving, one by one...can't wait until they are all gone!). Enjoy the feeling! Valerie butterflyintransit <siviax3 wrote: Hi, all. At one point Sunday afternoon I was getting pretty hungry and didn't have anything at the house that I was interested in. Guest guest
I can relate to the allure of cooked food. I eat mostly raw and have a little cooked food, mostly my own home cooked, such as an occasional baked potato, or a simple soup 2 or 3 times a week, mostly because my husband asks for it. After an exhausting, fretful day last week where more went wrong that went right and I couldn't deal with more food prep my DH & I went out for dinner. The big thing I find I crave is carbohydrates. I had pizza, a few french fries and some bread. I was barely out of the restaurant door when I felt so sick and nauseous. I didn't think I would make it home without pulling over to barf. I am finding I have less and less tolerance for cooked foods. Weird, I sure did not expect that! My friend who has more experience with raw fooding told me that response is not uncommon. The next day my joints hurt too and I felt generally crummy and low energy. I guess this diet agrees with me like crazy! My husband says that when you are having cravings for a particular thing, that is the thing that you are eliminating (clearing from your system) at that time. Guest guest
Taste is relative and our jaded, conditioned taste buds, feelings and emotions tell us something's tasty when it really isn't. rawfood , " butterflyintransit " <siviax3@c...> wrote: > Then, today I went out to lunch with my co-workers, and we each > had the typical SAD meal - fried chicken, fried fish, french fries, > and fried puffs (bread things you put honey on).
