Guest guest
Hi Tara and Froggy, I'm really enjoying what you are writing. Just one thought to share. The people here are not " radical thinking people. " We are, in various ways, merely finding our way back to Nature's inherent design. Drugs, pesticides, surgeries, irradiation, etc. represent radical thinking. They represent a belief system that says the purpose of science is to understand Nature so that we may control it. In contrast, a much more conservative approach is to understand Nature so that we may live in harmony with it. We are the conservative ones, not the other way around. Since I have changed from eating meat to vegetarian, then vegan and now, Im incorporating more raw into my eating I have met so many radical thinking people. To whom I have a lot of respect for. However, I didnt relate as much. My thinking is directed towards what I eat as well. Im not one for protesting or pushing my views on others, I merely live by my own right. I dont even oppose my views on my own children. Im a busy single mom with three young kids. I work full-time, keep up with three kids in scouting, and do volunteer work myself. I dont have time for all the thought about every little thing. I just know I needed to eat healthier and couldnt stand to eat animals anymore. I bought a puppy in August. I LOVE him, I never loved an animal before. After that I just couldnt eat meat. As for gray hair, well, i havent had to deal with that yet in life. I dont color my hair now and dont expect to in the future. I believe aging is a gift and I welcome its rewards. Froggy <seconaphim wrote: Free the animals. What America considers as a healthy diet is very silly, especially the food pyramid that highly intelligent scientists and nutritionists advocate. How people can be so intelligent in some respects and so silly in others astounds me. Wouldn't want to take away hunting from hunters. Neither would I want to see guns taken away from people with restrictive gun control laws in today's society. Oh, wait a minute, maybe I would. I'm not concerned about the chemicals in my toothpaste or shampoo, I don't eat either. Eating is the only thing that bothers me to the extreme, wearing animal products doesn't upset my equilibrium but I can see it as better to not. Testing of animals on products is a bad thing too, but it doesn't concern me much. Non- organic produce doesn't bother me either but many times it doesn't taste very good because of the chemicals. As long as I'm doing my best, as I understand it, which I am right now, I'm happy. I have some gray coming through, quite a bit actually. I heard I had a young, gray uncle on my father's side. I hope I don't go all gray, but I just leave my gray hairs as they are, keeps me humble knowing that I'm very old and falling apart. I don't think my gray hair is going to turn back to brown no matter how many fruits and vegetables I eat, but I have heard it happen for others. rawfood , JanPro77@a... wrote: > > I am also new to this group and had made so many changes in my life since > July when my son was on the net looking for a diet to lose a few pounds and > found the PETA site. Guest guest
We're not the radical ones. Radical - departing markedly from the usual or customary; favoring or effecting fundamental or revolutionary changes in current practices, conditions, or institutions. We're just trying to go back to the way man first was, eating a raw food diet. At least, those are my beliefs from my religious studies. I think " we are, in various ways, merely finding our way back to Nature's inherent design. Drugs, pesticides, surgeries, irradiation, etc. represent radical thinking, " especially pesticides. There's no reason to kill something in order to understand it. I'm a conservative Democrat. Elch, it's easier to read these posts if everything but the last post your responding to is trimmed. Thanks for considering my suggestion. Rich rawfood , " INFO @ Vibrant Life " <VLinfo@e...> wrote: > > Hi Tara and Froggy, > > I'm really enjoying what you are writing. Just one thought to share. Guest guest
I read on another forum's instructions that one word responses such as " thank you " and such are best sent directly to the person who posted the message in a private e-mail. I think it's a good idea, I follow that practice. rawfood , gaynell andress <andressgaynell> wrote: > > Hmm, that's nice!
Guest guest
Again Elchanan your words resonate deeply with me. I too feel like this raw way of life is a coming home of sorts. A coming back to myself and what I've known is true in my spirit forever, but somehow my head has forgotten that truth. I heard someone say once that all learning is really just remembering. I like that! And what an awesome thing to remember...that our purpose in seeking to understand Nature should not be to control it, but to live in harmony with it!!! It excites me to invision a city, state or world that truely lives in harmony with Nature. I guess we can only see that come to fruition one person at a time. I want to be one of those in harmony!! so strong is that desire, that I can feel it vibrate in every cell within me. ~Tess " INFO @ Vibrant Life " <VLinfo wrote: Hi Tara and Froggy, I'm really enjoying what you are writing. Guest guest
Thank you for your kind words, Tess. I'm wearing a big smile! I believe we are all born with a vast innate intelligence. This intelligence embodies the knowledge and wisdom of the ages, of our own ancestry and perhaps much more. It knows how to digest food and heal a cut and feel a feeling -- so many things are intrinsic, inherent -- simply part of who we are born to be. Then we go to school, church, work, etc. and become " educated, " " socialized, " etc. We begin replacing our innate knowing with, well, other stuff. And we are rewarded for abandoning our innate knowing and mastering the other stuff in its place. Eventually, thankfully, some of us may begin to find our way back to that which is innate within us. And we may help and support and encourage one another, each in his/her own, very personal journey. For me, every opportunity to give and to receive such support and encouragement, I receive as a wonderful blessing. Many thanks to all, Elchanan Tess West [tesser2u] Monday, February 21, 2005 7:52 AM rawfood RE: [Raw Food] New.... Again Elchanan your words resonate deeply with me. Guest guest
Yea, if only I could have always been eating this way, I would be used to it. My understanding is that we have our truth in us, we just have to discover it. I still feel like it's learning, but Jesus' parable about the coin that just had a lot of dust on it or something implies that our perfect self exists within us and we just have to shed everything that isn't that. Michelangelo saying he just removed everything that wasn't David would be another symbolic truth of this. Yes, live in harmony with nature. Keep vibrating Tess, I'm vibrating too, I hope I vibrate right off this planet. It's amazing how much younger the skin on my face feels eating this way. rawfood , Tess West <tesser2u> wrote: > > Again Elchanan your words resonate deeply with me.
