Guest guest
I'm celebrating two months raw today. You can all send me congratulations. Aren't you proud of me? A sneaky snow snuck in here last night. Looks like about four inches out there. I had an offer of a part-time tax job but I turned it down. I have enough money for my produce and what do I want with some part-time temporary job and then have to find a job in a couple months again. I'm a CPA but I've done enough personal returns in my life and I don't much enjoy it anyway. I want to work for a company or corporation as a staff accountant. Does anyone have any leads out there for me? I see people with jobs that they like and I really don't want to work unless it's something that I would enjoy doing. If I had to, of course, I'd take anything, but I don't have to. Besides, my self- esteem is growing eating raw and it's a matter of my worth that I only want to do something that would be a career, not a temporary money-making, boring, leave and find something else job. I have plenty to do anyway. I enjoy getting up early on this diet and experiencing a full day. I'll be heading into Phila. soon and go to whatever activities I can find. A talk, the rare books library, that movie about Deep Throat and another talk at the Penn Writer's Center are on my agenda today. I had a sex addict's dream again last night, just can't turn the stuff down. I'm just too loving a guy on my raw food diet. Feeling better about my life overall makes me want to express myself sexually more too. I hope I get over it, I'd like to be more moral in this area. I hope that movie that's out has some healing effect for me. Obviously, I don't want it to set me off in any way. Sex for love in marriage and for children is what I'd like to believe in. Even if I never get married, I'd still like to think and believe that way. Up early and up late with about six hours sleep and fully rested for another good day, I like this diet. I'd need 10 hours sleep to recover from a cooked food day, and the rest of the day wouldn't have half as much activity in it.

Guest guest
Froggy, congrats on your two months!!! I work for an accounting firm, its crappy this time of year. I dont blame you for turning it down. I know a lot of CPA's that have gone to private financial advisors and enjoyed that a lot more. You could incorporate your raw food knowledge, financial planning, and personal insights to an all around life coach taking care of the inner, outer and the future of peoples lives. You know when it comes to casual sex, it can be addicting to have the immediate pleasure with zero commitment. I used to be addicted to one night stands. I had no use for a man after I used him once. It was just a phase for me, yet still a very hard habit to break. I did find that im such a cuddly kind of person that the " wham bam: of it all left me so utterly unfulfilled. I do find that the raw diet is not just about food, but also about healing. Froggy <seconaphim wrote: I'm celebrating two months raw today. You can all send me congratulations. Guest guest
No menus, I just eat plain, whole, raw produce and raw nuts. Just pick it up and eat it, peel it and cut it up as necessary. All the foods that you can get at a produce store or that aisle of the supermarket that sells produce, raw nuts are around in markets too. rawfood , " Dick and Melba Preece " <dickandmelba@c...> wrote: > > What are your menus for the days that you have been raw? Guest guest
I'd like to work for an accounting firm, I just don't want some part- time tax job and then go looking for another job in a couple of months. What's the point to that, I want a career. I'd work a temp to perm job for an accounting firm if I could find one, and of course, at this time of year, it may be mostly doing tax work. You're lucky to be working. I'm not into financial advising, I'm not into money in that way, I just like to keep track of it with accounting methods. My real goal is to work for a private corporation as a staff accountant doing journal entries, working on the general ledger and financial statements, etc. I'd probably make a good life coach but I don't have much interest in that either. What I said is my real goal is all I'm really interested in doing. I once gave a coaching organization a $1000 or so about three years ago because I really thought I would do it, but then I didn't go to where they were holding the classes. The pleasure of sex versus the intellectual knowledge of wanting growth, love, commitment, joy, etc. with a person is hard to reconcile. At least it is so far for me, but I plan to come to some sort of mental peace of mind about this issue sooner or later. Temporary sex with someone may leave me unfulfilled but it feels much too good physically. Still, there must be an answer to mental peace of mind about relations and sex. My only root to mental healing is this diet. Guest guest
I guess that is the best way to do it. I am not good at making recipes. I like the simple and easy way and if that is not good, then I am in trouble. I have heard that people eat fruit for breakfast and lunch. My stomach would be screaming at me if I did that. I have the impression that the fatty raw foods help stay on my stomach longer and I don't get hungry as fast and then I wont eat so much all of the time. I am really having a rough time with staying 100% raw. Does anyone know anything about Chia Seed? Guest guest
Hi Melba, I agree with you that simplicity is best - complicated recipes are not neccessary at all! I eat fruit for breakfast and lunch, and often include lettuce and/or celery. Often, I will blend the fruits into a smoothie. I find it helpful to include bananas at breakfast and lunch - they are very filling. At dinner, I eat a large salad that includes one fatty food (either avocado, coconut, olives or nuts). I find that it works better to eat nuts or other fatty foods in the evening and to eat only one type of fatty food at a time, because they take much longer to digest. After eating dinner, I avoid eating anything until breakfast the next morning - this allows ample time for digestion. If I'm really hungry, I'll munch on a piece of celery or lettuce. I highly recommend reading The Raw Secrets: The Raw Vegan Diet in the Real World , and Raw Soups, Salads and Smoothies: Simple Recipes for Everyday Health, both by Frederic Patenaude; and The High Energy Diet Recipe Guide, by Douglas Graham. These books have had a profound influence on my approach to raw/living foods. Guest guest
I rely on two avocados a day, that's one thing that I just have to have. As far as the other produce, I just mix it up. And I haven't missed a day without some raw nuts either. I eat any of my produce at each meal, time of day doesn't matter, so I have vegetables and fruit at each meal, probably more vegetable than fruit at each one two. But all my meals basically look the same, mostly vegetable or vegetable fruits and some fruit. I eat a lot, I think, over the course of a day, eating every four hours about. rawfood , " Dick and Melba Preece " <dickandmelba@c...> wrote: > I guess that is the best way to do it. Guest guest
I've been having bananas as my last meal of the day, I get sick of eating all that produce all day long. Time of the day and number of meals don't mean anything to me. I eat right before I go to bed usually, or I keep having meals right up until then. rawfood , " Francesca Burgess " <f9burgess@h...> wrote: > > Hi Melba, > > I agree with you that simplicity is best - complicated recipes are not > neccessary at all! Guest guest
--- I just started eating raw. I love it. Last nite, I made my first raw soup. Eventually, I am going 100% raw. This is so nice, speaking with others that are into this way of life. I come from a small town, where streets are littered with fast food resteraunts, and the produce is not the best, least of all organic. I've decided to grow lettuce in doors (at least I am going to try). I have not tried as of yet to make my own sprouts - but I will.
Guest guest
Lol, I'm an old man at 41 and worked many, many, many jobs. I remember my alcoholic days before graduating college in '87 when I, of course, went from one menial job to the next. Then I got my degree, after 7 years of alcoholism and hating college, and got a staff accountant job with a CPA firm in Philadelphia and worked there a couple years getting my CPA in the process. Then I discovered some New Age literature that I hadn't seen before and it threw me for a loop. I quit my job because I was so overwhelmed with all the interesting, new information available and spent a few years temping at jobs (always job searching, of course) and reading. I've had a few other full-time jobs since then, of course, some in public accounting or as an accounting manager (really a full-charge bookkeeper). I've temped a lot too. A very round, varied experience, I like to think of it. Of course, I wish I had found a job with a company and stayed there for 20 years so that I would be a highly respected, responsible executive with a very high salary, but it didn't happen. I still have aspirations of it happening someday, but I don't know if it ever will. I'm always into the job search. All those jobs I had that I mentioned I lost for various reasons, one I was let go for a stupid reason, most I quit. I don't want to change paths, I like accounting, if I can find something to do in that field. I've no special talents and my only interests are this diet and my spiritual texts. I don't like to work at home or work for myself, too hard to get started and I like working for a big company anyway.
