If I try to make something ahead and freeze it... he says " I don't know what it is " even if I mark it... oh well his body.... I try as much as possible but do not stress over it... He hears what I have to say then makes his own. choices. " I understand about the crunch, I went through that, too, for awhile. How about some carrot, celery, a crunchy vegetable??? Would that work for you as a replacement for awhile? Might at least be worth an experiment or two. " Yep, doing the carrot and other crunchy veggies too...getting better.... remember I haven't been doing this long.. heavy sigh.. wished I had known this years ago... my son was the one that actually got me into well.. the vegitarian type eating...then research led me here.. " Jicama is crunchy, as are Doritos, tortilla chips, .... oh, wrong script! :) " HAHAHAHAH!! Oh my my down falls there.especially when I was a kid and early adulthood... many a time I sat infront of the TV munching a whole bag of one of those.... oh gosh.. not anymore..yipppiieee!!!!... don't EVEN make me think of them PLEASE!!!?? Guest guest
I keep cutting back on my TV, the plan is to eliminate it completely, but I have to have enough that I want to do in my day without it. That hasn't happened yet. I'll just have to keep progressing in this raw lifestyle and maybe it will someday. I like the idea of Jicama too as a crunchy substitute for raw nuts, I'll have to remember that. I wish jicama was more readily available here in PA, I'd have to go searching for it, it's not readily available like other produce. I'd pretty much have to go to Mexican stores to find it. www.rawfoodeaters rawfood , " INFO @ Vibrant Life " <VLinfo@e...> wrote: > Is it possible that, if you unplug the TV, the TV dinners may also > disappear? :) > > Jicama is crunchy, as are > Doritos, tortilla chips, ... oh, wrong script! :) > > Guess I'm in a bit of a goofy mood, Elchanan
Guest guest
Hi Bob and all, This message briefly addresses Dr. Bass article, for which you provided the following link: <http://inhs.ms11.net/articles/drbass1.html> http://inhs.ms11.net/articles/drbass1.html. In the article, this " doctor " opposes fruit and specifically citrus fruit ... or does he? I have to admit, I had to trash my first attempt at a discussion about this piece -- what I wrote was simply not suitable for circulation!! Consider that this man: - chose to live on nothing but orange juice for 70 days. - chose to live on nothing but grapefruit juice for 3 weeks or so - chose as a teacher someone who chose to live on nothing but grape juice for 32 days, until his teeth literally fell from his mouth. So here is my one acerbic comment: why not just drink straight battery acid and end the misery? And now, back to my more typical self. There is nothing in his article, and nothing in any of the input he reports receiving from others, that is even remotely related to the program I am suggesting in various posts to this group. For example: - I suggest a program based upon SWEET fruits, such as bananas, because they are most ALKALIZING. - I suggest eating tender greens almost daily, for the nutrient mix and because this is most ALKALIZING. And I speak repeated in terms of a HEAD of lettuce, not a " small salad. " - I suggest eating whole foods, at least in the form of smoothies, and I suggest minimizing or avoiding juicing. Beyond that, I would honestly say that I really feel for this man. It seems, based upon his own telling of his story, that he has never really understood anything he has tried. Oh, and by the way, Arnold Ehret, whom he cites negatively, NEVER suggested that anyone try and live on orange juice for 70 days! I believe Ehret's program is incomplete in certain important ways, particularly underuse of greens. But to blame a dead man for one's own sheer ^%^$^ & # seems downright unbecoming, at least to me.
