Guest guest
Hi everyone, As I read and respond to many posts, here and elsewhere, I am struck by the similarity of many of the questions, and of the challenges and experiences many people are having. And so I am having an idea, and I'd be very grateful for your honest feedback. Here goes...please keep in mind, right now this idea exists entirely within the confines of my mind, such as it may be. THIS IS NOT AN ANNOUNCEMENT OR INVITATION, at least not yet. __________ RAW FOOD SUMMER CAMP (An idea) One-week experiential learning and personal growth experience. A comprehensive, integrated, coherent program about healthy living. Offering a combination of: - Health and nutrition classes and workshops -- a comprehensive introductory program integrating belief, science, and practice. - RF, spirituality, and ethics in today's world. - Emotional eating -- really understanding the nature of the challenge, and providing permanent solutions that work naturally and with ease. REALLY!!! - Hands-On With Living Food<tm>, where everyone participates in the design and preparation of every meal. - Creating an RF kitchen. - Shopping excursions to farmers markets and stores small and large, to learn how to identify and pick quality, ripe produce. - How to thrive on raw in a cooked food world -- food, socializing, restaurant dining experience, more. - Sharing raw with friends and family. - The larger picture: cleaning up our lives. (Toxins, toxins everywhere) - Just plain FUN with others of like (or at least similar) mind!!! Likely timeframe: August 2005 Likely schedule: arrive on a Saturday afternoon/evening, end the following Saturday evening. The first Saturday and last Sunday are travel days. Likely location: San Francisco bay area, at least for the first year, since the organizers know their way around :) This program IS a coherent, focused program intended to help participants embrace RF as part of a total way of life. This program is NOT a collection of presenters offering unrelated, incomplete, and often contradictory ideas and solutions. __________ Obviously much more could be said, but hopefully this is sufficient to elicit feedback. Basically, I have the following questions for the moment: 1. If such a program were offered, would you seriously consider coming? Do you know others who might seriously come? 2. If such a program were offered, would you seriously consider coming? Do you know others who might seriously come? 3. If such a program were offered, would you seriously consider coming? Do you know others who might seriously come? 4. Do you have any suggestions, comments, etc? PLEASE SHARE!!! We would be creating this program from the ground up, and we would go out of our way to accommodate any and all reasonable (and even unreasonable) requests, suggestions, and ideas. I am SO grateful in advance for your thoughtful feedback. Guest guest
E, I would definitely consider coming! and I do know one or possibly two other people who would consider it also. I think it would be awesome! sounds like just what I've been looking for. I have looked at several raw food type teaching-retreats, but for one reason or another have not felt comfortable with them. I think mostly because I was not sure of the quality of information that would be taught. I have to admit that cost would be a big factor for me. The more reasonable the better. ~Tess rawfood , " INFO @ Vibrant Life " <VLinfo@e...> wrote: > Hi everyone, > > As I read and respond to many posts, here and elsewhere, I am struck by the > similarity of many of the questions, and of the challenges and experiences > many people are having. Guest guest
Wow! I would be so into this!! I have in fact been contemplating for some time about going to a raw food retreat, but unfortunately I cannot afford the $1,000 or more a week that they want for accomodation etc. I am also thinking of doing a great big cleanse and fast in the next week or so to get my body well and truly cleaned out. I think that this would be so cool to be with others and also have that support and advise from others as well!! If you wanted any help with organizing anything, then let me know, as I would be willing to help out wherever needed. Guest guest
Oh your so welcome Elchanan! The fast/cleansing I am going to do is the: " Colon Cleansing Kit " by " Blessed Herbs " check out their website and tell me what you think, although I have already paid to have it sent to me........... http://www.blessedherbs.com/mucoid.html It seems like it can and will get the job done!! Also, they have a " Users Guide " there which is underneath the: " add to cart " button which you can download and which gives all the instructions regarding the fast and cleansing. If anyone else has done this fast/cleansing, can you please let me know as I would appreciate all advice thanks. Guest guest
Absolutely, I would want to be there. I would be coming from Mt. Shasta, Northern California, about 5 hours north of SF. I would know at least one other person who would be interested. But both of us could not make it in the first half of August. Everything after Aug. 15 would be fine. How about children? I have a 9 year old son (then 10, well behaved). Would I be able to bring him? Thank you, Elchanan, for all your posts. They are so helpful. I had the banana, celery, date smoothie the last two mornings and like it. Can you give me other veggie/fruit combinations for smoothies? I have been juicing a lot and only dared to put lots of apple into my veggie juices. Guest guest
I would love to go to classes and or workshops etc.... although I wish more were closer to me here in Texas. And price would have to be super reasonable. there would be no way I could afford an 800.00 charge for a weekend... But the idea to me is wonderful and if more people made these available... I would think that more would come. Because it is a learning experience and seems the world is more ready for this type of thing that in previous years...I am really surprised Dallas TX doesn't ahve something like this. If it does I ahve not run across this yet... Debbie
