Guest guest
Hi Ruth. You write: Elchanan, This topic water topic is extremely interesting to me. What comments do your have on the following: 1. Distilled water leaches minerals from the body. 2. Living water is best for human consumption as it encapsulates toxins and they then have no effect on the body. 3. Have you done any investigation into the Granduer (sp?) water purifying system? My understanding is that it was researched and developed in Switzerland originally. It is supposed to enliven water back to the natural, clean, stream or spring water state. _____ Yes, in concept, " living water " is best for human consumption. But let me ask you this: What is living water? Does it jump off the , drive itself to the theater, pay its own bills? In other words, the term really has no consistent meaning. Nature provides humans and all land-living animals with two sources of fresh water: water occurring naturally in living organisms (fruits, leaves for humans) and water occurring naturally in running streams and moving ponds and such. No form of processed water is optimal for any life form. In other words, we are seeking the " least negative " solution, in a circumstance where virtually 100% of the water on the earth is now severely polluted. Governments are finding it " necessary " to change (lower) the standards for " potable water " in response to conditions our species is creating. I do not know anything about this particular machine (your question #3) but I can tell you that nothing of human design can restore what Nature would create. Our species is substantially limited to linear thinking, and Nature works entirely in a holistic context. Against that background, distillation followed by simple carbon filtration produces the cleanest water any of us can afford to buy, meaning it is as close as you can get to zero impurities without investing in a massive processing system of some kind. However, " cleanest " is indeed a double-edged sword. When the bad stuff goes, the " good stuff " goes, too. The result is an electrically neutral solvent. This means that material dissolves into distilled water easily from both sides of the pH scale -- acid and alkaline. Now people debate this point about whether distilled water leaches " good stuff " from the body. Yet those same people probably all claim that distilled water carries out " bad stuff " readily. From a chemistry perspective, as far as my knowledge goes, the whole conversation is carried on in ignorance. A neutral solvent carries out everything. Period. It does not prefer acid over alkaline or vice versa. Therefore, it is impossible to state that distilled water is cleansing without also acknowledging that it is simultaneously depleting. So I do drink distilled water. But I really get as much of my water from the foods I eat, not in a glass. And this is one of the reasons I emphasize fruits and greens in my diet, they are largely water, and all the water in them is processed in sunlight, etc. in ways we can only begin to imagine. One more idea: a Japanese researcher, Masaru Emoto (http://www.masaru-emoto.net/) has done fascinating studies where he placed different words next to water, and the water formed different crystalline structures for each word. In other words, many believe he is observing some energetic or holistic effect of the thought form of the word upon the water. So I do two things with distilled water before I drink it: 1. I put it out in the sunshine for a couple of days, as some believe this enhances the crystalline structure of the water by creating polarity alignment. 2. I use my pendulum to ask whether and what word or phrase on the water might benefit me. And my system almost always gives me something to use. Guest guest
Elchanan, When you place your water in the sun, do you cover it? I'm thinking of airborne pollutants getting into the water if uncovered or unprotected. Also, do you prefer a glass container to plastic for holding the water? Sasha _____ I cover it, for the reason you mention. I do not relish insects floating in my drinking water, or pollutants I cannot see. And I prefer glass by far, if you have it. Glass/ceramic materials do not leach (other than some known problems with porous ceramics leaching lead etc., but that is not relevant here). ALL plastics leach strong toxins into water they contain. It is now known that there are no exceptions. (For some years, many believed that some of the harder plastics might be immune, but more recent research pretty much destroys this notion.) I know ozonators are used to clean pools and hot tubs, in lieu of chlorination. I also believe, however, that considerable damage often results to the filtration systems. And I know ozone itself is generally considered caustic/toxic to humans. So at a minimum, I'd want the ozone out of the water. Much simpler to use distilled in my opinion, possibly safer.
