Good morning, fellow raw fooders. Another great day to be alive,

isn't it? My name is Rich and I've been trying to be raw for a long

time now. I'm having a little success recently. I saw Peter Pan

with Cathy Rigby yesterday, very entertaining, she dialogues the part

of a young boy very well. I especially liked the flight she took

over top of the audience at the end of the play. I bought some raw

nuts yesterday, I pretty much have to buy a little each day as I'm

out and about utilizing my backpack and the buses. I like to stay

stocked in bananas for a late treat. My mother bought some

strawberries that I'm going through. I got to eat twice on the

Pennsylvania campus yesterday. They often serve vegetable and fruit

plates for the people attending one of their open lectures. Last

night's lecture was on " The Church and State: Have We Gone Too Far "

about too much regulation about religious pictures and statues in

public places. I think people are making too much of a fuss about

it. I think it goes against freedoms to exclude such things from

public places. I'm pro-life all the way, too bad they're going to

let Schiavo die, and let's end capital punishment.

With all due respect...I can appreciate people wanting to express

their opinions about current events, but I don't think that this is

the place for it. I've been on and off this board for 2 or 3 years

now, and what I've seen happen with off-topic posts usually isn't

pretty. I've left this group over it, and even though I don't show

my face much around here, I do pay attention to what's going on and

would like to keep it a fun and informative place to be.

Many Thanks,

Bridgitte

I don't go off topic very much Bridgitte, but it happens now and

then. We're human beings with feelings, opinions, and expressions of

ourselves. We're not just raw food eaters. I respect the

description of this group: " This group is here to support people

wanting to learn how to eat a Healthy Raw Food Diet. Just because

something is raw doesn't necessarily mean it is the best thing for

us. This group supports a Vegan Raw Food Diet. Please don't come here

trying to promote other diets.

This is a friendly group of people. We welcome debate, but do it

without name calling and anger in the posts. Negative posts and

posters will be banned. "

I keep most everything I say related to raw food, but " this group is

here to support people wanting to learn how to eat a Healthy Raw Food

Diet. " Support has more to do than with what we put in our mouths.

Once a thread goes off topic once or twice I usually take it to

personal e-mail. But I think it's good for people to talk about and

discuss things.

Thanks for stopping by Bridgitte, it's unfortunate that you've felt

you've had to leave this group over things like this. I hope this

interaction was fun and informative for you.

Take care,

Rich

It' funny that you mention the home page - it was an off-topic

incident that got out of hand and sent me packing that led to what it

now says. It used to be much shorter ;)

Like I said, I totally understand people wanting to express their

opinions. And I was sincere when I opened that with " With all due

respect " . It's just that it's a very heated topic and could easily

lead to this group, for a time, becoming something pretty icky. My

intention was to nip a right-to-life conversation in the bud, not to

ask you specifically to not talk about certain things. I'm sorry if

I came off that way. In my experience when things get ugly, a bunch

of new people decide to join the group and are promptly scared

off ;) Murphy's Law, you know?

No hard feelings - please understand that if my post sounded like a

personal attack, that wasn't my intention...I really didn't mean it

that way.

Why does everyone apologize to me just because I'm raw? It's nice

how everyone is so sweet to me.

I'll try to stay out of icky. I'm glad for your intention. This is

a hard diet to do and not too many do it with any real success. I

don't know if babying newcomers really makes any difference or not.

Your post didn't sound like a personal attack, it gave me something

to chew on, I like that. I hope you become more than just a lurker

on here.
