Guest guest
Greetings All, I would really appreciate any comments, advice or suggestions on what I mentioned below. I know it may come across as silly to some, but I am very serious about this and sticking to eating just raw organic foods eating the best foods that I can. Thankyou in advance and I appreciate any replies. Guest guest
If you're not sure whether you should eat it or not then it's probably not meant for you to eat. I don't know if your agave nectar is raw or not. I imagine some juices are but I don't juice. I don't see a purpose to it. If I wanted some agave, I'd eat an agave. I think getting the full nutrition from the food is better than processing it in any way. In Overeaters Anonymous it's said " when in doubt leave it out. " A hard practice to follow but probably a good idea. Follow your heart and mind goddess and dare I say it, your spirit. Guest guest
Greetings to you Rich and thankyou for replying back to me and also for your valuable information, I very much appreciate it. You are indeed correct. I dont even need to eat to eat that stuff, but in the time that I am experiencing incredible " sugar " cravings that I cannot control, at least I do have something of " somewhat " healthiness to fall back on, rather than the usual sugar filled crap food. Thankyou again, Blessings, Indiana. rawfood , " Froggy " <seconaphim> wrote: > > If you're not sure whether you should eat it or not then it's > probably not meant for you to eat. Guest guest
Hi Indy! sure, I'll offer some thoughts: I looked for the cacao nibs on both the rawfood site, and in Nutridiary's 20,000 item database, and didn't find them in either place, so I have no comments. They sound similar to carob powder..they don't sound like a fresh, raw food. I'd looked at the Agave Nectar the other day or night, and saw that it was from the inside of a cactus plant (or something similar...). and somehow it was going to be more like papaya or something. It also is not in the Nutridiary system....sounds unlikely to *really* be raw, although it could be. (and I heard John Rose in a teleseminar the other night refer to it...and I saw that it was recommended to added to lemon juice and cayenne pepper...sounds like another " stimulant " /poison type solution...see post from Elchanan in the last day or so..) > > > > Are these things bad to add and eat???? don't know if they're good or bad (and language that I choose to not use; I prefer is it a working or non-working choice?) how are they working for you and your body? yes, date is dried...(see prev. posts about ordering fresh dates...) I see both the cacao chips and the agave as concentrated/processed/changed foods. I wouldn't view either of them as optimal. > > > > I wanted something like this available to me, if I get incredibly > > strong cravings for something sweet like chocolate or similar. I suggest you learn to acknowledge the strong craving, and then give the body something else, like water or fresh fruit. The " craving " will go away. I still get them, and they do go away. It's fun for me to see what the " craving " might be associated with/attached to. There's my thoughts....(from someone who used to live in Crown Point, IN..between Gary and Merrillville..) Suggestion: Work on eating lots of fresh, raw, organic fruits, with a few " vegys " like lettuce, Romaine or Iceburg, tomatoes, cucumbers, and bell peppers (not green; red, yellow, orange....green=not ripe..search for other posts with more info. on this), an occasional part of an avocado, and maybe a few soaked/sprouted nuts rarely. Check out some of the posts on food-combining; Exercise + Raw Food Diet = Great Health (subtitle of T.C. Fry's book, " The Health Formula " (ISBN 1-55830-009-0) -- book recommended Hope this helps... Indy, is this anything like what you had in mind?/ Good luck, Bob
Guest guest
And another thing, if it doesn't say raw then it probably isn't. In fact, that's a very safe bet. We know they pasteurize milk to something like a 1000 degrees or whatever but then you buy it cold in the store. There's probably some process like that for juices or drops of things. I guess that's why people who talk about juicing on here, talk about buying their own juicers. pas·teur·i·za·tion ( P ) Pronunciation Key (pschr--zshn, pstr-) n. The act or process of heating a beverage or other food, such as milk or beer, to a specific temperature for a specific period of time in order to kill microorganisms that could cause disease, spoilage, or undesired fermentation. I think dates are fine. > > > To make them more palatable, I added a date and a few drops > > > of: " Agave Nectar " > > > > > > Are these things bad to add and eat???? > > > > > > The date is dried and I presume still raw to a point, but I am > > still > > > wondering about the " Agave Nectar??? Guest guest
I know it's hard, but the only thing I fall back on is dates, bananas and grapes when I want something really sweet. Dates are the only thing like themselves as far as that major sugar hit. It takes a while to get used to staying in this category, but I really don't feel as if I have any choice if I want to be comfortably raw. I like passing on dates unless I really need them, it's fun to practice detachment from any food item. Another item, avocados, are the only thing like themselves too for that fatty need.
