I've been using Aubrey Mandarin Magic shampoo but they have just

discontinued it.

I love its fragrance and pure ingredients. I'm allergic to soy and wheat and

it seems that any shampoos with pure ingredients tend to contain either soy

or wheat derivatives or both. Or else they don't have a nice fragrance.

Does anyone have a wheat-free, soy-free, chemical-free shampoo to recommend?

I'm looking for something ready-made in a bottle, not something I have to make

out of my own ingredients.

Thanks,

Judy

[Raw Food] Re: Face creams etc.

E,

Thanks, once again for helping to focus on something which completely

eluded me! I wasn't even connecting the ACID in the cream to the acid

we want to avoid internally! So used to compartmentalizing myself and

the world...

I had the feeling it wasn't good for me, but couldn't put my finger

on why it shouldn't be.

Need to think and dig a little deeper sometimes.

Hi Don & Gypsi,

I personally have found that all that is required to keep the hair and

scalp clean is the washing in clean water and brushing the hair well. In

fact I did spend twelve months at one stage without washing my hair,

only brushing it well, and had no trouble keeping it clean. During this

period I was also in contact with others who had nits and did not

experience any problems.

Using shampoos, soaps etc., destroys the natural oils which is a major

factor in protecting against infestation. I would emphasise that the

brushing of the hair well is very necessary.

  • 9 months later...

Have you tried Baking Soda (mixed with water to form a

watery paste) with an apple cider vinegar rinse (1 T

mixed in a cup of water) or a lemon rinse (diluted

lemon juice ... about the same proportion as ACV) ?

I've been using it for about 2 months now and my hair

is great.. not to mention that I don't need to shampoo

daily any more...

there is a transition time but you can shorten that by

'weaning' your hair from shampoo....

mail me off list if you'd like more info

Thanks all for your responses. I have a bunch of books in storage, and I

know 2 of them are my " How it all Vegan " cookbooks. I know they have tons

of recipes for beauty/cleaning products. I will have to find them.
