Guest guest
Hi everyone, Recently there was a discussion about raw caramel sauce. I asked Dr. Tim Trader, because he always has wonderful, simple recipe ideas. He suggests: Blend 4 Calimyrna figs and 6 dates with water. Vary the type of dates (and the number, corresponding to size) to create different effects. As Bob Farrell already shared, Carmelita dates have a slightly caramel flavor and would probably be an excellent choice. Guest guest
I haven't been able to find any of these Carmelita dates. Does someone have a source they are willing to share? Donna
Guest guest
I just wanted to tell my experience with some of the other ideas given for the sauce. Last night I took frozen banana to make ice cream (placed in the freezer) and then the Carmelita dates (my favorite, I thought they were honey dates but I found some one from Turkey that spoke english and helped me out a bit) I already had in my fridge added water and a tiny bit vanilla bean and blended til smooth and creamy. I then served this to Kris and a friend of his. There was none left and this evening when I got back from my biking and sauna I was bounced to make more as an evening snack. (this from a man who claimed 5 years ago that he was allergic to bananas.) Love and kisses, Lu
Guest guest
Oh, they would come from one of the date farmers directly, such as The Date People, Bautista Organic Date Farm, Oasis. These have been shared in the group before, please let me know if a repost is needed.
