Guest guest
> Real rawfeeding is feeding your animal like it would eat in nature. Dogs and cats did not exist in the natural world. They are species engineered by man. There are different theories about how dogs evolved from wolves but all agree that wolves are dogs' ancestors. In general, dogs ate what people gave them except for a few breeds, like the Afghan, that had to hunt for their own meals. I own PBGVs, 16th C. rabbit hounds, that excel at hunting. Mine have caught four rabbits in my fenced-in yard but have not tried to kill and eat them. All four bunnies hopped off to safety. They are species engineered by man. There are different theories about how dogs evolved from wolves but all agree that wolves are dogs' ancestors. And all the experts I have read agree that the system of a dog has changed little from its wolf ancestors. In general, dogs ate what people gave them except for a few breeds, like the Afghan, that had to hunt for their own meals. Yes, our pets are at our mercy to eat what we provide them. I choose to provide mine a species appropriate diet- the diet of the carnivores they are. I am a vegetarian. In my younger years I had the fantasy of all my pets being vegetarians as well. I have never been and never will be comfortable with the " food chain " , but I didn't create this world. Switching my canies to raw was one of the hardest things I ever did, but the best thing I ever did for them! ) I own PBGVs, 16th C. rabbit hounds, that excel at hunting. Mine have caught four rabbits in my fenced-in yard but have not tried to kill and eat them. All four bunnies hopped off to safety. The mark of well fed pets Another rawfeeding myth, btw, is that eating raw meat will somehow make our pets " blood thirsty " - it does not. And after years of dog kibble some dogs need to be " taught " what is species appropriate food. The improvement in the health of my canines, from pups to seniors has been incredible, even in those otherwise healthy This is coming from someone who almost can't believe she is saying it! I encourage all to dig deeper and question their current belief systems... Bright Blessings, Suzy Micki
Guest guest
Micki, I'm glad the bunnies hopped away from your PBGV's, they would not have fared so well with my Standard Poodles. We will most likely have to agree to disagree on this topic. " The domestic dog is an extremely close relative of the gray wolf, differing from it by at most 0.2% of mtDNA sequence. In comparison, the gray wolf differs from it's closest wild relative, the coyote, by about 4% of mitochondrial DNA sequence. " Robert K.
