Guest guest
Hello everyone, On the subject of beards - Nicks that is - he was showing me yesterday how his facial hair isn't growing so quickly since he went raw - normally he would HAVE to shave every day without fail and he really could have left it yesterday so that is changing for him. On the subject of MY whiskers - not normally a subject I would wish to discuss at all but for a number of years I had been getting some facial hairs which were real whiskers and I would be watching and feeling for them and plucking them - well they have stopped coming!! I still of course have my normal facial " down " - always have had quite a lot of facial hair which I used to chemically remove before raw but I can live with that now - it was the other hairs that used to get me really. I also have a mole on my chin that sprouted hair like mad - it hardly has any hairs coming from it now - I did worry about them - so that is another bonus of raw foods. Has any one had this? My facial skin is nice now - I never had good skin - when I was a teenager I had TERRIBLE acne - went on for a log time and my skin on my face and back became very scarred but it is refining now and it looks good - the scars are hardly noticeable - isn't that amazing. Guest guest
Lynne. How long have you been raw. I know you have said, but I haven't memorized all these things. I am interested because I am developing whiskers and they have not gone away. I have been raw since September, with a " vacation ' in March. Thank you, Lane - Lynne rawfood Wednesday, April 20, 2005 7:31 AM [Raw Food] whiskers!! Guest guest
Hi Lynne, How nice that you're seeing results so quickly! I've heard that raw foods can help with facial hair, or hair overgrowth in general. But you're not alone! I have horrible facial hair (chin, sideburns, mustache areas) which I find I have to pluck just about daily. I like the results from waxing better, but I don't have the patience to let the hairs grow long enough for waxing - ick! They bother me so much - I've had skin care professionals tell me that it is totally normal, but it never made me feel any better. I remember when I was a young girl, my mother would sit me down in front of her while we were all watching television or something, and she would pluck bunches of hair out from my sideburns with tweazers. I would cry and yell, but to no avail. I guess I was raised to think that any kind of facial hair is ugly, so I've grown into the habit of plucking for myself. It would be nice not to have to deal with that as often, or at all! Jeannie Rose
Guest guest
Lynne, I’ve been watching for that too inasmuch as when I began peri-menopause I started the “whisker” thing too. The difference between you and I is that I was so “desperate” that I went the laser hair removal route. Now, having said that, I was starting to get white whiskers which cannot be removed by laser hair removal. Those have diminished since I started eating raw. We’ll have to compare notes in another month to see what changes occur, if any. - Donna We take on a burden when we put a man behind a wall. That burden is to give him a chance to change. . . to deny him . . . is to plant the seeds of future anguish.
