Guest guest
I have bombarded the group with a multitude of questions this week. Hope that has been ok?.. I won't be able to keep up the frequency of p.c access so I thought I would make the most of this week! Thanx for hearing me I understand most olives that people enjoy have been tampered with. My mother eats olives off the tree when she is visiting friends in the middle east. She is a 75% raw on a much better than average diet. Also been exposed to raw eating through myself but doesnt advocate this lifestyle especially. (what I mean is, she isnt SAD) So, I was curious to find out if olives were actually nice to eat untampered with. I discovered NFL supplying peruvian oilves. These come in a jar, slightly dried but no salt, no olive oil or anything added at all. The taste was very strong and they are naturally very oily. I found 3- 4 in a salad to be satisfying as a source of fat. (I dont use dressings and complex items/combinations in salad so the flavour/texture is predominant of each food) I can't say I am mad about them but I wondered if, like coconut they are a food for us? I mean, is this source of fat more suitable for us than seeds? If not do other animals eat them? I have enjoyed coconut water when I lived in the carribean on times. The soft flesh is tasty but it wasnt something I found easy to digest in any frequency. I dont like or eat any other nuts. What's the view on young coconuts? And what about the liquid? I think I have now explored all the curious food items in my 'mind bank' for the time being! I'm off for some bananas!.. Love to all! And what about the liquid? A lot of rawfooders are into young coconuts, both the meat and the liquid. I've been raw for 4 months so I'm certainly no expert, but I've found that the raw " experts " are all over the board in terms of what we should and shouldn't eat. -some eat legumes, some don't -some eat sprouts, some don't -some eat tons of fruit, some limit fruit -some eat grains, some don't -some eat blended foods, some don't believe in blended foods you see where I'm going with this, right? I would suggest (and this is what worked for me, YMMV) just eating raw in the beginning and not worry about that stuff bc your body will sort it all out. Listen to your body AND do the research, but don't feel all paralyzed bc you don't have all the answers at once. swing
