Guest guest
Donna [donnachagnon] Thursday, April 21, 2005 9:27 AM [Raw Food] cravings . . . I was so giddy all week - feeling great. Here it is day 40 of eating 100% raw and I am feeling awful. I woke with a sore throat (felt swollen), stuffy sinuses, and nausea. I have no energy today. I want to eat a big green salad with fried crispy chicken on it and honey mustard dressing. . . but i know that that won't help. _____ Donna, You have a golden opportunity RIGHT NOW!! Focus on your feelings, notice everything that comes up in and around those cravings. Resist the temptation to fix anything, just observe yourself, notice. This very minute....then share what you observe. Guest guest
Elchanon, unfortunately I got your post after I got home tonight and not before I had lunch. I have to say that whenever I have felt sick to my stomach in the past I have wanted something either salty, deep fried or spicy because once I ate it the nausea went away. Today was no exception. I didn't have the Crispy Chicken Salad from Unos but I did order a buffalo chicken finger pizza - I ate the chicken and a little of the cheese and left the bread on the tray. The nausea disappeared within the half hour. I came home and got back on track with the fruit and immediately the nausea has started again. I'm guessing it is my body cleansing itself. Is this normal for the body to start cleansing itself 40 days into the start of eating raw? I haven't had the opportunity to read the posts on another group but I do note there are lots of them talking about doing a cleansing. Am I wrong to assume that this isn't necessary if you eat the right foods anyway? It seems wrong to me that I would have to do a cleansing when I am eating all the right, healthy foods. (you can probably find an earlier post by someone else talking about Burger King, I think it was (may have been Elchahan) It stops what it was doing, and goes to deal with the newest challenge you've presented it.** >Is this normal for the body to start cleansing itself 40 days into the start of eating raw? ** my experience is that the body will cleanse itself whenever it has enough energy to do so...raw eating supplies energy, and the body also saves by not having to use so much digestive energy... Much has been written by Jensen, Shelton, Fry, Herring and others about how this process works from the inside out, and the top down, generally. the error that I see being made is you thinking you have to " do " something about the stomach nausea...you don't...the body is already doing what in its brilliance it knows needs to be done. Our bodies are much smarter than we are, and yet we all feel the need to interfere/meddle at some point.* > Am I wrong to assume that this isn't necessary if you eat the right foods anyway? *yes, you're incorrect in your assumption. The body will heal itself as it sees the priorities. Depending upon how long, and how many toxins have been (and are continuing to be!) put into the body, it can go on for quite a while. See some earlier posts about fasting for some other ideas.* >It seems wrong to me that I would have to do a cleansing when I am eating all the right, healthy foods. *you don't have to do the cleansing...the body takes care of that.. you can choose to assist the process by providing it with rest, fresh air, sunshine, etc...*OR* you can stop the process completely by eating " food " like you did. The " right, healthy foods " are what are allowing the body to have the necessary energy to do the cleansing. And it's neither right nor wrong..it's just how it is...how it works. I encourage you to look at it as new learning.* *For me, I can frequently tell when a " cleansing " is probably going to happen: it comes right after I feel " fabulous..never felt better " ; that's one of my clues.* all for now... all the best, Bob > > Donna > _____
