Guest guest
A while ago (perhaps 2 weeks back) eating 80-10-10 was recommended (carbs-protein-fat). That percentage would be total of calories consumed, wouldn't it? Micki

I have been eating in this style for some time, and the 80-10-10 figure is just a guideline- the numbers usually look more like 85/7/8 or so. And it is more of an average to shoot for than something you need to reach each day. Some days your fat % will go over the ten percent limit, and other days it will fall under. What to aim for is that it averages out to be around 10% or less over the course of weeks and months. Jake
Guest guest
So how do you feel eating this way? How long have you been doing 8-1-1? When you went raw did you go 8-1-1 immediately or did you evolve into it? swing --- jlainoff <jlainoff wrote: > Yes, it's percentage of total calories. Guest guest
For the most part, I feel great. I am very athletic and wanted to switch to a raw diet to improve my endurance (which it did!). I've been eating 8-1-1 for a little over two years. When I first went raw, I had a goal of eventually eating 8-1-1, since it is the raw program most recommended for athletes. However, it took me a few months to be able to eat enough fruit to get the calories I needed, so at first I relied too much on avocados and nuts. I definitely think most people need to evolve into this diet. After eating cooked food, our stomachs aren't able to hold as much volume as we need, which leads to undereating calories. And then that leads to cravings and binges on cooked foods to make up for the missing calories. Jake rawfood , swing bolder <swingbolder> wrote: > So how do you feel eating this way?
