In this case, if you don't know anything about pH, and you have no earthly idea why the body would ever split the pH readings as Jeannie described, or how the pH of urine could ever get so high or what it may mean, please don't step from that absence of knowledge into being a practitioner. You don't even know what questions to ask!!!! Sorry to write in such strong language, but I am really much more interested in preventing someone from getting hurt than I am in any hurt feelings, for the moment. It's a prioritization I make easily and without hesitation. As I have written separately to Jeannie, in all likelihood this is a slightly elevated yet reasonably routine cleansing event. I do not practice, I create health for myself and for others willing to walk with me. I distinguish between creating health and treating symptoms (acute illness, chronic or degenerative disease, etc.). I do not diagnose, for I do not label people. I do not " prognose, " for I do not try and predict the future for other people. And I do not " treat " anything, as I accept that I have no power to heal, cure, etc. anything or anyone other than myself. I thought this group was to discuss the raw way and to get OPINIONS from group members. I am not " being a practitioner " and although you claim not to be, it certainly sounds like you are to me. It is an individual's job to sort out different opinions and figure out what sounds the most logical to him or her. I don't think anyone should blindly follow anyone's advice in this or any other group. If you disagree with my opinion, fine - just write " I disagree, this is what I think. " But to berate me publicly and to suggest that I not offer my opinion is outrageous. -Poppy rawfood [rawfood ] On Behalf Of INFO @ Vibrant Life Wednesday, April 27, 2005 1:00 PM rawfood RE: [Raw Food] EVERYBODY PLEASE PAY ATTENTION: Acid-Alkaline Balance in Urine * Someone (left anonymous intentionally) wrote: Are you only eating fruits and vegetables? We are all here to learn and share. If I want just one opinion, I'll ask for it (which I have!). Otherwise, I want to hear from a variety of sources. I can decide for myself what I will do with the information provided. This group will start to get old really fast if there is a single " authority " that must be kowtowed to. Best to start a separate group for those who only want to hear one kind of philosophy, if that's the case. Sorry if I sound harsh, but it is how I feel. Guest guest
I am weighing in on this topic, in favour of this being a free discussion group, open to various opinions. That does not make us expert practitioners, but we all get to talk freely here. I hope. If the OP (original poster) wants the opinion of a " practitioner " , let her/him go to one. When you ask a question here, you are asking tons of random people in all stages of knowledge on this topic. They should all be free to respond as they wish. Thanks. I want you to know, from ME, that I REALLY appreciated your advice and am sorry that this discussion has led to upsetting you (and anyone else, if it did). This issue has upset me too, and I've now had some interesting feelings of anxiety and anger to deal with. And you are 100% right when you say that EVERYONE has a right to add their thoughts, especially when they're asked for. I didn't ask for " opinions from only those people who might think they are qualified to answer. " I did ask for EVERYONE'S opinions and thoughts on the issue. I figured that if anyone replied with thoughts at all, that they must at least have some idea of what they're talking about - naturally, in my opinion, those who wouldn't reply are either not interested in that topic or just don't feel comfortable adding information. ) What IS important to me is that I do receive as much information as possible from as many sources as I choose (especially when it's information that I hadn't even thought of), and I will make up my own mind on how to deal with my own issues. I take full responsibility for this, and know that I won't always make the right/best/perfect choices - if I mess up I'm okay with that. I will continue to learn my lessons until I get things right - mistakes are helpful like that. They bang you on the head repeatedly until you learn something. ) What bothers me is when people speak for me about what they think I need. I'm a big girl, and I make my own decisions, and I speak for myself, period. What bothers me (especially in the whole RF realm) is when people with more experience are given all the credit and are looked at as infallible because they have more experience - please think and act for yourselves - I cannot emphasize this enough. Everyone, please know that FOR ME, one individual's opinions do not outweigh another's opinions, simply because of greater (number of years of) experience. Granted, because of greater experience, a lot of times what the more experienced person has to share might make better sense to me, but it doesn't mean I close my ears to other ideas, by any means. I appreciated ALL of the ideas that you guys posted to my questions - you gave me exactly what I asked for, so a big THANK YOU!!! By trusting that I know my body, I will decide on my own which path to follow, monitor that, and will let the group know if anything changes, for better or worse. The reason is simply so you guys can hear from my experience, and maybe learn something for yourselves. That's it. And just because I might do some specific thing that makes my body better or worse than it is now, doesn't mean that the same specific thing will have the same affect on anyone else. My body is a culmination of all my experiences, all the food I've ever eaten, all the feelings I've ever felt, and all of the thoughts I've ever had. How perfectly and totally unique we are! Anyway, I just wanted to publicly post what I've been thinking about and feeling for the last 24 hours, and maybe even add a little bit of closure to this part of the issue. Because this has taken a lot of energy for me to deal with, I need to take a short reprieve from the group, just to kinda laugh and center and breathe on my own again. But I'll be back, I promise. I, as always, appreciate and respect all of everyone's feelings and thoughts here, and I wish you all well over the weekend. JR
Guest guest
Thank you Jeannie for your thoughts and opinions. Thank you to Elchanan for your thoughts and opinions. Thank you to everyone on this list for your thoughts and opinions. The collective mind is greater than the single mind.
