I add bananas and then berries. then some sort of greens. yesterday was watercress. > PPS Yes I have often made smoothies without nuts? Why do you ask? > Hi Lynn (is Lane your first name? - sorry..) I was asking whether you add tried a smoothie without nuts just to see if you had checked out eating a simple smoothie. I use to put avocado and seaweed on my salad as " routine " without even considering whether I would like salad without it. I am completely off all fat for 2 months because I have huge yeast problems amongst other things, so I had to experiment with other kinds of salads and discovered I don't actually miss the avo'or seaweed! When you strain a nut milk before using, (either in a fine nylon sprout bad or muslin) then you are taking the fibre out. This means their will be less aggravation in the digestive process when mixing fruit and nuts/seeds together. Please note; This is just a view, it has 'knowledgable' background behind it, but don't be surprised if someone else contradicts this method. Whatever you decide to do - it is always good to have all the information! PLEASE don't let my view confuse or discourage you. xxKay
Guest guest
Kay, Your view doesn't confuse or discourage me. However your message conveys to me that you think you know better than me, what I should do, and are enlightening me with your superior views. Perhaps you did not mean to convey that and I try to be mindful of that. I eat the smoothies I want, the way I like. It would be more helpful to me if you talked about what works for you, and not about what you think I should do to make things work for me: that is unless I ask you for advice. I like my smoothies. I understand the other view points floating around here. I am not drinking them out of ignorance. I am drinking them because I have a different viewpoint than you. And that's OK.... for both of us. Lane --- Hi Lane.. I certainly understand, and respect, your perspective. *and* I would offer that we can all probably learn, not just from what's working for each of us, but what has been shown to be sound Natural Hygiene (one of the foci (??) of the group) principles. I think the principle Kay was " around " was food-combining. And yes, I agree that there has been plenty posted about that..and yes, we all get to make our own choices. And yes, watching our language when we're discussing principles, so that it isn't received as a personal attack, is also probably a good idea. I think debating the principles is great; attacking each other is not. all the best, Bob
Guest guest
He Bob. I agree. However it is hard to follow threads that are interspersed with many other ideas. Kay, (and others) may not be aware that we have discussed my smoothies and the fact that I am " cutting down " on the amount of nuts in them, but I am not going " cold turkey " . I don't expect every body to remember the details of my personal program. On the other hand I don't want to be attacked either. Thankyou, Lane - Bob Farrell rawfood Wednesday, May 04, 2005 9:29 AM [Raw Food] Re: For Lynn on Smoothies. x rawfood , " lane lynn " <lanie@p...> wrote: > Kay, Your view doesn't confuse or discourage me. Guest guest
I am drinking them because I have a different viewpoint than you. And that's OK.... for both of us. Lane This was a good lesson for me Lane. I am learning to make a lot of changes to my attitude and perception of things. To learn, to unlearn and relearn! The one thing I love about Americans (whom I have met anyhow..) is the directness. English are so reserved, all poliet then yuh know what? They gossip about you anyway!! Thanks for this message. I haven't made alot of things work for me in the PAST come to think of it? So making things work is new to me also. And thinking about it, i dont sit over other people's dinners telling them how to eat " better " unless they ask; So why do I think I can do that with anyone through here unless they ask?
