Guest guest
Hi everybody, I would like to buy a blender but don t know witch one I should choose. High quality blenders are so very expensive, I really want to pick the right one. I read a lot about the vita mix 5000 and the K-tec, they seem to be the most powerful. What blender would you recommend, what are the strong and the weak sides of the blenders? Are there other interesting models to buy? I need the blender to make smoothies, raw soups, nut butter, blended salad, recepies for crackers etc for my family. I'm looking for a very strong machine, the one I have ist constantly congested and stops and it is a lot of fuss to blend something, I have to cut everything in very small peaces and even then its quite a battle. It would be very nice to hear from other raw foodists about their blender experiences and to get your advice. peace and love Brocki
Guest guest
Brocki, I've got an older (at least 15 years) Vitamix. Its got a metal container, and an all metal base. I just love it. I don't use it as much as I should. Its easier to clean the Kitchen Aide (until I forget to put the blade back in and pour 1.5 cups of olive oil all over the counter!). I've only had one problem with it the whole time I've owned it. The blades had to be replaced when the post sheared off from all the torgue caused by reversing the blades. ~$40 for 15 years of use is a steel in my book. Most products don't last 2 years any more. Vitamix's support has been great! The company used to turn a small block of wood into sawdust in their promo's to show how powerful the machine is! I give it 2 thumbs up! Guest guest
Hi Ina. I am very pleased with the Vita Mix I bought. Elchanan helped me find one that was " almost new " . (Thankyou, Elchanan). It is very powerful and I have no complaints. I can't believe how easily it grinds up nuts. (ducking...humor) Really though it is strong. Good luck, Lane - Ina Warburg rawfood Saturday, May 07, 2005 8:26 AM [Raw Food] best blender? Hi everybody, I would like to buy a blender but don t know witch one I should choose. Guest guest
I agree about the Vitamix! I have never purchased a new vitamix, simply picked up used ones along the way & then used them like crazy and they have always lasted for years (in spite of the abuse!). Amazing tools!
