Guest guest
Note especially for Kay: I don't always those frequent BM's that everyone is talking about. " We " need to realize that " we " don't have to be, aren't necessarily meant to be like everyone else. We heal and grow at the pace that is necessarily for " us " . Be patient with yourself. Enjoy each day, each moment. Realize that each moment is a step to the next. Re: Menopause: I have a question. I haven't had a period for 20 months. I recently started increasing raw consumption and being more faithful with my exercise and sunshine. I started bleeding Wed night. It acts just like a period. I'm 47 and had perimenopausal symptoms for at least 5 years before (what I thought was) menopause. I also had 5 miscarriages from 1991 - 2001. I realize the bleeding could be serious, but want to wait until after the weekend to consult a doctor. Just wondering if anyone knows if it's possible that my healthier lifestyle could instigated ovulation again. Thanks for this board and all of you who contribute. I've learned a lot....lurking. Guest guest
Let me ask you this, did your doctor confirm your menopause through a blood test or did you both assume that you were in menopause simply because your period stopped 20 months ago? When I was in perimenopause my physician kept insisting that I wasn't old enough to be perimenopausal (I was 44 years old). I thought I was losing my mind because I had all the 'symptoms' of perimenopause yet she kept telling me there was no way! So I insisted that she do the blood workup on me. Sure enough, not only was I in perimenopause but I was 80% menopausal at the time! Where you have been 20 months without a period I would definitely have the bleeding checked out. - - - - - Re: Menopause: I have a question. I haven't had a period for 20 months. Guest guest
Thank you for responding and sharing. I had a few tests before menopause because of the miscarriages and difficulty in getting pregnant. My FSH level indicated declining fertility. The hot flashes, irregular periods, low fertility and FSH were doctor's indication that I was perimenopausal. No tests were done during the 20 months - just assumed it was menopause due to the history and time frame. I had been having breast tingling the past two - three months (on and off) and someone thought that was indicative of my body trying to ovulate. I started progresterone cream hoping to balance my hormones. I am thinking if I have it checked out and it is determined other than " re-ovulation " , it will cause me stress. If I don't have it checked out and continue on a healthy lifestyle, the situtaion will correct itself. But if it is nothing to be concerned about and I do have it checked out, I won't have any stress over it at all. I could wait and see if it becomes a " monthly " thing..... My OB insisted the same thing...but I finally convinced him to check my FSH and it was 53!!! WAAAY menopausal! You mentioned that you've started progesterone cream in the hopes of balancing your declining hormone levels. That could very well be the cause of the bleeding. I've read that 'break through bleeding' is very common as your body trieds to readjust itself to the added hormones. If it were me, I'd not be concerned, and give it a couple of months to see if things even out. But do what feels right to you!! Guest guest
I am no doctor or even educated much.. but my daughter just went through this after she had her tubes tied... went almost a year without a period.. dr. gave her some meds .(said she may be going through early menopause)... to kick start the period again... during the time of no periods she was having the usual monthly period pains... dr. said she is fine no fibroids or cancers or anything... she now has usual monthly periods... heavy flow... but that is all... she is 23... her diet didn't change much though either... she still eats junk... I have heard tho that losing weight and or diet changes can trigger different flow.. even stop it all together.. or start depending of your case.. yours being starting up again.. i have a friend who lost 180lbs and she started having a really heavy flow after an almost non-existant one...sooooo best bet is go with how YOU FEEL... pay attention to your body... wait a few days... if it still acts like a period and you feel normal with now unusual pains.. then wait some more... if you feel unusually weak or dizzy then get to a dr.. remember iron loss is normal during this time so keep extra iron in you... if you are still unsure... go to a dr.. get checked out.. have a sonograhm to check for fibroids.... I personnally went from low flow times of month to very heavy flow.. to very weak.. during this time... found out I was perimenopausal... but I also had major fibroids... weird thing was I had no different pains at all..just extra ordinary flow.. ... this was not due to or during a change in diet tho....could be your body is getting healthier and starting to trigger the responce it should have been during the 20 months... now it is cleaning ALL your body... just keep close eyes on how you feel and keep that extra iron in you for saftey for now... gmroberson1 <gmroberson1 wrote: Re: Menopause: I have a question. Guest guest
> > I hate decisions! Hi, and a thanks from KAY on the note Decisions (Choices) are what life is all about! I understand what you mean though. I find the only way to go with harmonious decison making is to contact SOURCE and feel the answer come with ease. It takes practice at first; Ironically the practice is not practicing anything! I notice the more attention i pay to a problem - (like my struggle " against " depression/negative mindset) - the more I experience a problem! Perhaps if you take the advice I was given.. " Dont try to fix problems, just build health " Nice eh?.. Sometimes, when I am really strung out with a thought or a decision to make, I pray. My prayer is not the kneeling down " please God " type. But rather.. " God I need to know you more - show me how to help myself " Then I let it go out to the Universe and before you know it some prophetic word comes via another person. Or a situation has a funny way of working itself out. Or I just feel I KNOW with all my heart what I need to do. If in doubt shout it out! Sometimes we go in blindly and that's ok because if the result is less than we desired we can learn that it wasnt the choice we needed to make! And thus make another attempt.. I am a great one for learning this way!!! Sometimes I feel my own despair is a frustration of " failing " to live by truth. But I so clearly see it as there.. By the way - I aparently have hormonal problems amongst other issues. Right now the only way I CAN go is to " Stop trying to fix problems and build health " I feel so overwelmed by life I just couldnt apply myself to knowledge of fixing things. It just has NEVER worked for me. Just imagine giving up the belief that you need to address your health 'problem' per-se. Just imagine living harmoniously whilst eating a simple and nutritious diet.. - Something I am affirmining daily to myself amidst the turmoil. Perhaps my previous call for help being answered with exactly what I needed to be reminded of???... Hope this makes some sense for you. xx
