30 Day Raw Challenge, anyone?

I am planning to try to eat 100% raw for one month - starting tomorrow.

Would anyone like to join me?!

I've been thinking it would really help me _DO IT_ to have a 'buddy' or two

to share the journey since I don't have that kind of support system IRL.

If anyone else feels like this would be a good time for them to take the

plunge, please join me... we could share what we're eating each day, as well as

any joys or concerns (detox symptoms)! :-D

So, come on and join me! Anyone up for a challenge?

DARN...wish we had use of the group's homepage...we could post our

before pictures, and then our after ones down the road!!

xoxo,

~Denise

Hi Denise! I would love to have a rawfood buddy! I

have been trying to go raw for a while now, and

realize it's alot easier having someone to be raw with

and to share experiences with, than be alone on this

journey!! Starting today-(Monday) I am going 100%

raw- but it's really hard especially when your use to

eating cooked!!! My name is Elaina, and I was raw for

a year and a half (that was a year ago, and have been

back to cooked for one year and hate it!) Anyway, if

you're interested please e-mail me!! I know I can

probably be very helpful to you with information since

I was a 100% rawfoodist for a year and a half, I know

alot of recipes and information, and am really good at

encouraging other people for lifestyle change (I just

have a hard time encouraging myself!) Once your raw

for a month, I know you can stick to it, but it is

hard sometimes!! It's just alot easier to have rawfood

friends for encouragement and advice, cause sometimes

it can be a very lonely lifestyle!! It would be great

to give and receive encouragement!!;) Please feel free

to e-mail me it would be great to hear from you!

Are you saying you are already currently eating 100% raw but would still

like to join us? Please do! Even though you might not 'need' the challenge...

I think the more that is shared regarding what people eat each day and how

they're feeling, the more it helps us fledglings :) ~denise

I am not ready to take the challenge but are you doing daily e-mails

separate from this group? I would like to be a part of it in hopes of

getting back to 100% raw. Can I join for that reason? Thanks, Breezi

I'm at almost five months 100% raw now and still counting. A month

is nice but I think it's important to do this for a lifetime for real

mental happiness, one month at a time of course. While the physical

detox symptoms go away fairly quickly, as a thin person, I lost all

my excess weight within three months, the mental detox takes much

longer, getting used to this diet. The mind rebels strongly against

doing this but that simmers down with time. I don't have the same

mental resistance to this that I had five months ago but there's

still a lot of mental change/detox going on for me. That's the

important part about doing this for years, is going through all the

mental detoxes in all their strange shapes and various ways as I grow

mentally and for me that translates into spiritually also.

Losing a lot of weight on this diet is nice but if you look too

closely at that as an end in itself, I don't think someone could stay

with this diet for the longterm. It has to be about mental change

and I don't know how someone could go about that without spiritual

growth. My father in heaven is very gentle with me, he takes me from

where I'm at, but he expects me to go forward from where I am or the

natural circumstance to that is that I will fall backward.

Denise (and " Co " ) - I feel I have made a good connection with you :)xx

I thank you for your love/sharing toward my current challenges.

Since I sabotaged my diet recently, I begin again!

I will touch base with you on the challenge :)

I eat simply (no recipes/combos) Following a completely 'fat free' plan

to support my system through some health challenges.

It is coming up for a more compatible season - Summer sun and Summer

fruits!

Heres to US ! :) :) xxxxxxxxx

Detox symptoms can last for years, they can come and

go, esp. if one was afflicted with a chronic illnesss.

I've had asthma for 30 years, and while I'm breathing

better than I ever have, periodically I will go

through a few days when the phlegm is just pouring

right out of me. So it really depends on the person. I

just had to make that point bc I'd hate for anybody to

be turned off of raw bc of unrealistic expectations.

Healing sometimes takes time.

I am soooo glad you brought this up... regarding detox etc... I have been

wondering about that... I have not had a major health problem except a couple of

seizures. I am no longer on that medication.. been about two years now.. Not

because of raw eating tho. just decided I wasn't going to take them..

But now I am wondering about the detoxing... if you had had problems through the

years... but generally healthy... how will this relate to symptoms?? as a very

young child I had a bad kidney illness that landed me in the hospital. the only

other times I have been in the hospital was to have three kids and get my tubes

tied, a hysterectomy..and then the seizures... With the kids.. I had as many

drugs as they would give me to kill pain.. the usuals with the hysterectomy...

but over all my health has been good.. some elevated chloestoral and

triglycerides... and liver enzymes were what actually scared me off my meds for

seizures... the only other problem I was getting major aches due to being

overweight ....

So can anyone tell me what I will need to be looking for regarding detox?? Is it

possible to know at all..??
