Many of the first participants on the new list were lurkers and others who perhaps were worried about being judged by seasoned raw fooders (seems from the sound of your follow up email, they might have been right <grin>). So I'd say that the new group shouldn't impact the 'regular' posters on this list. Many people here, I've noticed, choose to belong to at least one or two other raw food lists as well as this one The new list, RawFoodChallenge, welcomes and *respects* ALL paths to raw food. We treat each other gently and with support, not condemnation or chastizement. Each person learns what is best for them by exploring what resonates with them or perhaps, as Victoria Buotenko says in " 12 Steps To Raw " learning to *listen to their OWN body* rather than what one philosophy or person says to do. I think it's important to become an intuitive raw food eater, and yes - some people might prefer to find their OWN way rather than deciding to jump on another's bandwagon. They might indeed eventually decide not to make a pie that combines fruits and nuts, but it is a choice, not a mandate in the raw food world. There are a TON of raw food books/retreats/spas/clinics where 'Raw Food Gurus' are promoting recipes like this And many raw food gurus and pioneers who back up the Living Foods/Raw Food 'movement'. Criticizing others' food choices paths is neither helpful, nor positive, IMO. Also, by creating this new list, we have access to the LINKS section on the homepage which was not possible on the RawFood list: We've been able to create a folder where members have created individual Food Diaries during the Challenge (and beyond)...once they enter an entry, they can 'send' it to the list to share as well as having a 'permanent' and easy-to-access record for others to read any time. A Raw Recipe folder has been added so that members can share tried and true recipes. We hope to eventually have someone write up and add a FAQ folder for newcomers about detoxing , etc. There is a folder for permanet Raw Food Articles, as well as a folder set up for members' photos. So, while it may not be for everyone, the new list IS filling a need for many of us and we do welcome anyone from here who would like to join and participate *respectively and with tolerance to individual paths, whether they decide that path is through Fruititarianism (8-1-1) or through Living Foods. Warmly, Denise

Guest guest
Newbies may fumble and fall but that is how we learn. Some may feel intimidated by those who have already fumbled and fell and learned or are better educated.... Some may just want a smaller group.. Guest guest
Hi Kay - I understand where you are coming from here. I joined the other group - for inspiration - but am thinking about leaving; because I am not 100% Raw right now, and to be honest, I feel like perhaps I should not have joined, as obviously, the purpose of the group is to be 100% and to maintain that for 30-days. (and hopefully to continue past that) I kind of feel like I should not be there - I am just feeling I guess " like a fish out of water. " As I said, I joined for the inspiration - as my goal IS to eventually be ready and able to do 100%..... THIS group feels like " home " to me; I consider it my " base group " lol - if that makes any sense. I feel like I can be where I am at right now, (not at 100%) and that is OK; in other words, I feel accepted by others in here to just be where I am at, and go from there... THIS group has helped me IMMENSELY to become more motivated, more educated, and more inspired, and I really need ALL of those things in my life right now. I do better on some days than others, but overall, I am making progress in that I am doing MUCH better now than I was even 3-months ago, and I owe that to THIS group! Not sure if any of this has made any sense or not, but wanted to share. korangeli <korangeli wrote: Because so many of us are participating in the challenge, is their any need to have a seperate group?
