Ummm...it was created by the USDA which received INTENSE lobbying from

various industries (dairy, beef, poultry, etc.) The public got SUCKERED

basically, while they got their pockets lined :-/ ~denise

article excerpt,

orig. by Marti Fry (LSHS, p.672 "

I also found this interesting:

" ...In the Health Crusader you have been learning:

1) which foods are best - fresh raw ruits and non-starchy vegetables;

2) which foods are second-best - fried fruits, nuts and seeds and

raw starch vegetables (including roots and legumes);

3) which foods are third-rate - lightly steamed starchy vegetables

such as yams, potatoes, sweet potatoes, squash, peas, corn, etc. and

other lightly steamd vegetables such as broccoli and brussel sprouts;

4) which foods are fourth-rate-lightly cooked rice, millet, etc.; and

5) which foods are worst to eat - all the rest! "

then she goes into talking about food preparation, and the less

processed, the better: whole best, then cut once, etc..etc. Big

on " finger foods " - eating raw foods, with our fingers....Bobo would

approve!

some of the information is now a little " dated " , and I still find it

interesting.

all the best,

Bob

Thanks Bob. I enjoy hearing about your interesting reading. Thanks to a recent

post of yours, I read The China Study which I think should be required reading

for everybody! I have urged everybody I know to read it. Lane

I find it interesting ... that in my 49 years this information was out there but

I never REALLY heard it.. saw it took it in... it frustrates me, infurriates

me...maybe we have had some newer ideas regarding raw food eating but to think

they have known this for years and years Why wasn't there more education?? Why

has the food pyramid been soooooo terrible all this time?? Makes ya wonder what

else we have been lied to or glossed over....

Thanks Bob and I think I like bobo... lol

Hi Lane!

thanks for the feedback, especially about the China Study - I'm

delighted that you've read it, and found that it had meaning! I've

also recommended it to several folks, and some have actually read it.

Have a great day!

all the best,

Bob

Hi Debbie!

easy there....it's not worth getting frustrated/infuriates about (ok,

maybe it is: lol!).

There's plenty of education. and one thought that always helps me is

that we crucified, literally, one of history's absolute greatest

educators! that always helps me put it in perspective. From an

earlier post of mine, " if I can't figure something out, follow money

or follow love... " in this case, it's money - is there any money to

be made by educating the masses? not directly...indirectly, yes: and

could probably change the planet...but it wouldn't directly make any

money for the " medical " community.

and the food pyramid, as some else has shared, was created, and is

maintaind/propogated by the USDA, the United States Department of

Agriculture. somewhere else, I'd seen it described as, rather than a

balanced nutritional plan for mankind, that it was a balanced

marketing plan for agri-business. Which, when you think about it, is

really what it is.

all the best,

Bob

those with high money needs will probably stick to research, look

for " cures " for " virus-caused diseases " - since neither exist, they can

write grants for lifetimes...since many people choose to believe in

the " magic pill " solution, rather than accepting accountability for

life choices....

course, I have a *strong* bias..I believe in making daily choices that

build Health, rather than looking for cures for diseases.

all the best,

Bob

I think they'll make something called diet soda, which will make you want more

diet soda and not make you lose weight, so you'll buy more diet soda. Oh

wait....they did that already didn't they. OK well now they'll make other diet

products that don't make you thin, cuz people will buy lots of them. Then

they'll put stuff in them that make people get cancer, that's pretty profitable

too. Then they'll make this thing called junk tv. the fat unhealthy consumers

will be content to sit down and watch while they munch and drink....Oh oh they

did that already too....Hmmmm next?

Well, they could add junk food to school lunches, nuke the food supply, sue talk

show hosts that speak out against meat. Done that too. Man these guys are good!

I think next they will put stuff in food that makes people fat, and they will do

'studies' that show fresh plant food to be inferior. Alright gotta stop. Happy

raw day all, Lane
