Hello everyone - I haven't posted for a while - just quietly getting on -

eating raw every day and feeling pretty good one meal this week not raw -

busy in the garden a lot at this time of year and this is good as it is

exercise for me - beats the gym anyday!

On the subject of smoothies does anyone have the problem I have with them -

it is the WIND!!!

Terrible it is - I love my smoothies - mainly banana with something -

usually lemon and I love that but the after effects are quite bad - is it

just me??????????????!!!!!!!!!!!

I blend them just a little to see if this makes a difference, it does -

slightly. Nick keeps trying to leave me at home when he sneaks out!! LOL ¬~

;>))

Love to all

Lynne

Hello Lynne,

I have a similar problem. it seems that banana trigger

mild digestive distress. depending upon which fruits i

eat them with, the effects can vary.

It's funny that i just saw your post because i came

onto the forum today to ask the same question:) To

anyone who are more experienced rawbies, are there

specific fruits that are not recommended to be

consumed with bananas? Are there better times in the

banana's life cycle to eat them (green vs. spotted,

etc).

Gosh, I'm saddened by the idea of having to give up

bananas..i've given up so many of my favorite foods as

it is, due to allergies:( Good luck to you with

seeking answers to your dilema and thanks to any one

who can shed some insight about this.

Lynne,

My food combining chart says that bananas (a sweet fruit) does not

combine well with citrus (lemons). Maybe that will help. IT says

bananas don't combine well with strawberries, pineapples or kiwi

either.

Hi Lynne!

nope...I'd say it's not just you....looks like a non-optimal food

combination to me: an acid fruit (the lemon), and a sweet fruit, the

banana: known *NOT* to be an ideal combination.

suggest using just the sweet fruits, like banana, dates, mangoes, etc.

and *NONE* of the acid fruits: citrus, etc.

see a post either earlier from me, or just after the one you posted

from Elchanan about the smoothie - banana, date and some celery. This

combo may give you a lot less wind in you sails, lol! Or try just a

banana whip: banana and water....

for folks with weak/weaker digestive systems, it's more important to

pay attention to food-combining. (trust me, I KNOW! lol! whenever I

deviate, my body reminds me!) others can, seemingly, " get away " with

some poorer combinations...at least in the short term...

have fun.. food combining might make for an interesting " knowledge "

topic in the future. I've found it fascinating, both in theory, and

how it works for me.

If you try the change, please let us know how it works...give it a day

or two at least, enough time to get most of the old stuff out...

all the best,

Bob

are strawberries in the more acid fruit family?? can't remember.. I always have

bananas and strawberries with no problem... but E got me thinking about my

system and if it is cleaned out enough... that it would let me know if I ate

something wrong... How does one know when the plaque is generally all cleaned

out?? is there a way to test the system for this?? I know cleansing, fasting etc

helps but what if you have caked up plaque? If we are not supposed to use herbs

or concoctions to help loosen it.. how do we know the fruits and veggies are

doing their Complete job...???????
