Good morning,

I'm in downtown Bethlehem, PA at a class for a few days and I haven't been able

to find a good health food store or raw food resource close to the hotel. Does

anyone on this list have ideas on ways to find one? I did a google search but

nothing came up. I'm near Main and Broad St.

Thanks!

I don't know of any shop near you ,but I do know of something that will be of

help. Whatever you do find to eat be very appreciative of it and bless it with

the most sincere feeling of love. It will bring back the life force that is

lacking.

Hi Nick,

In case you haven't tried them yet, these are the directories I use when looking

for sources of food on the road:

www.coopdirectory.org/directory.htm

www.happycow.net

www.greenpeople.org

www.vegetarian-restaurants.net

www.vegetarianusa.com

www.wildoats.com

I'm always kind of shocked about how hard it is to find healthy food east of the

I-5 corridor until you get to major cities. Now I take food with me, and have my

re-supply points mapped out before I ever leave home.

A few times when in a pinch I've eaten non-organic fresh food from a regular

store, and rinsed it in a mild vinegar solution first. Vinegar is supposed to

kill pathogens and detoxify toxins on the surface of the food. I think maybe it

just improves the ability of water to loosen and wash away stuff stuck to the

surface of the food, and is less of a problem than using soap when trying to

clean food. In any case, the vinegar wash makes me feel more comfortable about

eating lesser quality food.

Lately I've been peeling all waxed/oiled fruit and throwing away the peelings

from even organic food because even scrubbing with soap doesn't remove the

sticky layer with whatever is below it.

A lot of the toxins in non-organic food are on the surface, so peeling this food

goes a ways to improving its quality.

May your day be filled with clarity, grace, progress, and warm laughter,

Roger

Ramona,

Thanks for the reminder. It's kinda cool to be spending Easter Week in

Bethlehem/Nazareth. As of today I'm staying with a Jewish family who are

celebrating a vegetarian Passover.

Just found out that there's a health food store only a short bike ride away.

That's probably the best I'll get on short notice, but my hostess is a

nutritionist and has a binful of good vegetables. Things are good here.

Also that we're going to hear Janet Reno speak at Lehigh Univ tonite.

Bike Safety Instructor class is going well too.
