REGARDING: Unlicensed pair fined for administering

fatal fast

Hi Nick, Jeff, and everyone,

I feel a great sadness as I see this matter thrust so vividly into

everyone's view, and in such a distorted way. I do not know know whether

there will be any appeals or the like, and so those of us who actually DO

know a bit about what happened really cannot say anything at all about the

specific case under discussion. I hope everyone will understand this, the

silence among those who know Tim and/or Loren must seem deafening, and I

realize that people can draw all sorts of conclusions in the presence of

such silence.

I do not enjoy criticizing another leader in the RF world, yet in this case,

I do so wish Helene had done some asking around before blasting that thing

all over kingdom come. When we don't exercise at least a modicum of due

diligence, we can create a real mess and send an awfully distorted message

out into the world.

Nick, you are not alone in having heard of such things about people fasting

with Loren Lockman, particularly women. At the same time, it can surely be

said that not all people and not all women have shared a negative

experience, many have indeed reported vary positive experiences.

I have known Dr. Tim Trader for nearly a decade, I consider Tim a friend and

an excellent teacher and health coach, among other things. Tim was unable to

attend the hearings etc., because he is caring 7 days a week for his mother,

who is dying. The tribunals apparently interpreted Tim's absence as some

sort of admission of guilt, even though Tim (through an attorney) had tried

for ages to work out a date that he could make.

On a more general note, fasting, in general, is safe, and fasting for type 2

diabetics is safe given the right preparation, setup, and circumstances.

I have very mixed feelings about saying no more, as do others. But at least

for now, it seems the " best " course to choose.

Best to all,

Elchanan

Re: Re: Unlicensed pair fined for administering

Jeff,

I don't want to start a debate here, but a local friend of mine had an

expensive, unpleasant and unhealthful fasting experience at Tanglewood. It

ended up turning her away from raw foods. I'm not sure what any of this

means, except that (as we all know) we are ultimately responsible for our

decisions and should check out anyone thoroughly (but kindly) who tries to

help us.

After saying this, I'm a little discouraged personally because as a heretic

in several categories (eating, transportation and loving) I have few places

where I'm even safe to discuss the possibilities, fewer where I can get

competent and compassionate advice.

Maybe I should be discussing this on the raw philosophy forum (?)

Peace to everyone, inside and out.

VitaOrganic is in London. They have raw options for lunch and a raw

menu at night.

Other raw restaurants around the world (most are in the US) can be

found here:

A photo of VitaOrganic is on this page:
