Very interesting item on Roger Haeske’s blog:

“There is a hidden war going on within the Raw Food Community. Most people

who are into learning about raw foods are not aware of it and that is to

their own detriment.” Read more at:

Although I do not agree with every detail Roger presents, his thesis appears

correct from my perspective. That is, a large number of the RF teachers,

primarily those who sell all manner of food products and supplements, appear

to consciously exclude from their speaker rosters anyone who advocates

healthful living sans those products. This is understandable, though some

may consider it unfortunate.

I'm no fan of Dr. Graham, I was turned off by his attitude at lecture

I attended in Seattle, but I'm curious what " prominent raw food

festival last year " he banned from? It would be a shame if he was

excluded only because so many people disagree with him.

Cheers,

Daniel

Hi Daniel,

It’s the Raw Spirit Festival, to be held in Sedona in September. But I just

read on his forum the other day that he is now going to speak there, thanks

to so many people writing the promoter asking that he be invited. Certainly

his 28 or so years as a raw fooder and his accomplishments far exceed most

of the others who are speaking at that festival.

What about his attitude turned you off? He did say one thing in that

lecture that turned me off, but having heard him speak many other times and

read his books, I give him a pass on it. Nobody is perfect. But he is head

and shoulders above most raw food educators, most of whom have not been raw

very long (and many of whom are not all raw even now) and most of whom sell

supplements, which to me is an admission that the diet they are promoting is

not adequate. Take a look at the Raw Spirit Festival website to see all the

supplement sellers. And then there is the guy who says sungazing will take

away your need to eat food (but who has been caught eating in restaurants)

and other assorted characters. I believe the sungazer is one of the

“keynote speakers.”
