Hi Cheryl,

I'd love to know more about Hu Shu Wu tea. Do you know of people whose hair

has become thicker as a result of drinking this tea? How many times a day

did they drink it, and how long did it take for them to see results?

Thanks,

Judy

Hi Judy,

I went through my notes and I think the correct spelling is Ho Shu Wu, also

known as Fo-Ti. It is like chips of bark and is a well known herb in Chinese

medicine. I get mine at Dandelion Herbs in the Ballard neighborhood of Seattle.

(Not sure where you are from.) Anyway, it is the #1 herb for building bone

marrow and is excellent for hair! It is known to change grey hair back to

original color.

If thickening hair is what you want, MSM is known to create thick, lustrous

hair, among many other benefits. Recommended dosage is up to 10,000 mg per day.

Work up to that amount, some in am and pm. It can be harsh for some people, so

work up to high dosage. I personally have no problem with high doses. (Great in

smoothies.)

My bone building tea is also high in silica, which is excellent for hair health.

I alternate the bone building tea with the bone marrow tea. I make a big soup

pot of a tea and drink it cold for a couple of days, then make the other tea to

drink for a couple of days. Both of these teas are also good for hair! I've

been drinking them for 4 or 5 months now.

Bone building tea: nettles, oatstraw, and horsetail

Bone marrow tea: ho shu wu and reishi mushroom

Hope that gives you some help. Last time I went to the hair salon, my

hairdresser (is that what they are called?) kept commenting how healthy my hair

was!

Peace on earth.

Cheryl

P.S. Good quality bulk herbs can be purchased from

www.mountainroseherbs.com<http://www.mountainroseherbs.com/> at reasonable

prices, but they didn't have ho shu wu.

Hi Cheryl,

Thanks for this information. When you take MSM, do you mix the powder into

water?

I remember doing that once, many years ago, when I lived in NYC, but the MSM

had a bitter taste and I didn't like it. Or is there a way to take MSM in

pill form? If you've mixed it into smoothies, what do you put into them to

cover up the bitter MSM taste? I make smoothies by blending banana,

hempseeds, berries and greens.

I had been taking silica, but it's in a plastic container and I started

wondering if maybe the chemicals from the plastic were leaching into the

silica.

Oh, I live in Sarasota, Florida.

Be well,

Judy

Hi, u say that fo ti is known to turn gray hair back to it's original color, but

have u noticed that to be true?  I was just wondering, bcuz I would like to give

it a try if it is true.  I've heard that cats' claw, wheatgrass, and rejuvelac

can do this to, and while I really like rejuvelac, I just don't have it in me to

make it consistently.  They had it for sale when I was in Southern California

last, but I haven't seen any for sale here.

Also, I take MSM as well in smoothies, as well as water(sometimes mixed with

ACV).  I notice it in my nails more than anything else, as they seem stronger

when I'm on it consistently.  Anyway, thank you.,,
