Guest guest
Hi All, I have added an ordering database for raw pistachios. Both farmers I bought from last year are getting ready to harvest in the coming weeks, and the nuts will be sun dried for a couple weeks following that. So we'd have the nuts most likely in mid to late October. I'm just trying to determine if there is enough interest to place an order so if you'd like some please either email me or add your info to the database. My cost has significantly increased over last year but I can still offer these fresh (in-shell) pistachios for $2 less per pound than Living Tree. $9/lb; 3 lb minimum. Shipping cost is $10 for 10 pounds and $13 for every multiple of 15 pounds. Thank you, Nora
Guest guest
Hi I would be interested in raw pistachios. Sounds like they would be very fresh. Does anyone know where to get good local raw nuts? Thanks Nora Lenz <nmlenz RawPortland Monday, September 15, 2008 8:22:27 AM Raw Pistachios Hi All, I have added an ordering database for raw pistachios. Guest guest
To my knowledge, the only nuts that grow in Washington State are filberts, walnuts and chestnuts. Walnuts grow in abundance in Eastern Washington and an almost unlimited supply can easily be gleaned from backyard trees. There are lots of wild filberts around the Seattle area, but the shells are often empty. There is a filbert farm up north, somewhere near Bellingham I think; the name escapes me at the moment. They sell their nuts at all the farmers markets. I don't believe they're organic. Nora > I would be interested in raw pistachios. Sounds like they would be very > fresh. Guest guest
Nora, for a 3 lb. order, would the total then be $27 + 1/3 of the $10 shipping cost, or are you including shipping in the per-pound price? Guest guest
Oh, sorry for the miscommunication. People picking up in person don't pay shipping. That's only for non-local orders. I hope this clarifies. Thanks for asking, Blanc!
