Guest guest
Which is how a lot of us feel (Obama/Kucinich, that would have been cool! And a vegan at that!) Guest guest
I do think that Obama is better than McCain, but Kucinich is heads above Obama. Kucinich was the only candidate pushing for a single payer universal health care system, and Kucinich himself is a vegan. So I was hoping Kucinich would top the ticket and become president. But it's precisely because he's so wonderfully idealistic that he lacked the money he needed to get the media to take him seriously. He refused corporate and lobbyist money. And good for him that he did! On Sat, Oct 25, 2008 at 9:05 PM, Jeff Rogers <jeffwrote: > Which is how a lot of us feel (Obama/Kucinich, that would have been > cool! Guest guest
Well, you only have ONE vote, and the election is not going to be decided by your ONE vote anyway, so why not vote your conscience? Personally, I would have trouble looking at myself in the mirror if I voted for either McCain or Obama, both members in good standing of the War Party: http://www.antiwar.com/justin/?articleid=13623 Mark One more thing I am only 25 and have not been voting that long but have been getting a lot of frustration from friends who say my vote would be wasted on Nader and would just help Mcain is this true you ahve to stay in the 2 party system to get to where you want or vote with your own heart?? I know its not a raw question but I just need some advice and did not know where to turn.
Guest guest
> is this true you have to stay in the > 2 party system to get to where you want That reminds me of the definition of insanity: repeating the same action over and over and expecting a different result! Republicans, democrats, republicrats. It is similar to people turning to toxic medications over and over, with poor results, but expecting a " cure " . My physicians, years ago - when I was put on prescription medications for my hypertension - never said I could reverse the hypertension and get off the medications. The system has evolved to perpetuate the notion that pharmaceuticals are the path to take to address disease. Perhaps when the hundredth monkey wakes up the tides will shift. It takes stepping outside the box (or oven) to see the light and recognize that the system(s) does not work, though it may seem to (an illusion). Guest guest
Thank you Mark for the website I checked it out and was amazed and shocked. Even trying to appease my doubt thru research proved it was all accurate. Also thank you to Jeff, Judy, Blanc and Tea for your responses. I definately will vote with my heart and my head instead of trying to separate the two. It feels to me like people are waking up and realizing we are all slaves with nicer clothes. With the many things I have learned in the last 2 years I have changed so much. I used to be scared of anything too conspiracyish or outside the box but embracing the veganism and how great I felt and smashing my ideas of gender (our youngest child is intersexed) finally accepting I will never be the societal accepted standard loving mine and my families uniqueness I quit feeling scared of the truth and more like I wanted to help it along. Change is scary but way better than the alternative. Thank you all for your responses I have been comteplating and researching and feel that it is best in these to live my truth. My husband made a joke that they can always change the ballots like they did with bush so our votes might not count that way and maybe he is right. I guess we will all see soon. And I know I will feel better about voting as I would when I was a child before all of the confusion and corruption of politics had seeped into me. When learning of our system I always envisioned that everyone saw every person running and researched them and voted based on truth and not just party and newscasts. That debates were open for all candidates they all had their turn. Maybe we will get back there with more votes outside the box maybe my children will grow up seeing our system repair itself reaching its full potential. Thank you to all of you, Peace Moonlight and Love
Guest guest
You're very welcome, Kristina. I hope your husband's joke doesn't prove to be reality, because as we know there's a lot wrong with the voting machines. I saw a local news report the other day showing that voting machines (to be used for early voting) were left unattended in public places overnight and that anyone could have had access to tamper with them.
