John Mackey says:

" Health-care reform is very important. Whatever reforms are enacted it

is essential that they be financially responsible, and that we have

the freedom to choose doctors and the health-care services that best

suit our own unique set of lifestyle choices. We are all responsible

for our own lives and our own health. We should take that

responsibility very seriously and use our freedom to make wise

lifestyle choices that will protect our health. Doing so will enrich

our lives and will help create a vibrant and sustainable American

society. "

For sure, raw foodies will want to deny support to people who

recommend that we uphold responsibility for our own health and the

liberty to make our own choices.

It is wise to realize when one is shooting oneself in the foot.

Not everyone is enlightened as raw foodies are are what is the best food to

eat.

I care about my fellow humans. Not everyone takes the same path. Let's be

compassionate and help the less fortunate!

Because their CEO, John Mackey, is a greedy pig. He wrote an op ed piece for

the Wall Street Journal recently (google it) quoting Margaret Thatcher and

saying only the rich like himself deserve the best health care. He's

against any public option.

Judy,

Your insulting and false statements about John Mackey are unfortunate.

Nowhere in his opinion piece did he say that only the rich like himself

deserve the best health care, which you would you know if you had read the

article. Instead, he offered 8 ideas for lowering the cost of health care

for everyone. Here it is: http://is.gd/2sXJ6

But thanks for bringing his piece to attention. As I said in my earlier

post about your call for this absurd boycott, his plan is far better than

anything I have seen coming from our rulers in Washington, D.C.

Judy,

What a cheap shot to call somebody a " greedy pig " and to then call for

people to boycott one of the best businesses in America because you don't

like what he wrote.

And what an insult to the pig, a noble and intelligent animal, to use its

name as an epithet.

In response to the " Never Question Authority " crowd which is calling for

this ridiculous boycott, new Facebook groups in support of John Mackey and

Whole Foods are gathering steam, e.g.: http://is.gd/2tcKg and

http://is.gd/2tcS0

That *might* be a good idea if we had a sustainable system set up that

emphasized prevention, but I don't think we as a community can afford for the

majority of our population to take expensive drugs, have open heart surgeries,

radiation, cancer surgeries, etc. That's simply the reality, and that was one

of Mackey's main points.

Judy, just a reminder that name-calling, judging, and character

attacks, etc. are not welcome on the list.

Thanks,

When you are free to use your own money as you wish, you are also free

to express your compassion financially to help your fellow humans get

acquainted with organic tomatoes. Whereas, if you are forcibly

prevented from keeping that money which you earned, so that the

government can decide, manage, and administer a health care program

for everyone, then you are no longer as endowed to contribute $ to

those unfortunate SAD ones which you elect to help - and neither will

anyone else. It will no longer be a matter of personal decision how

(or whether) you promote your own health, you no longer need to think

so much about it (or even understand what you've been doing to

yourself) - the administrators will make take care of all that for

you. And if you disagree with what is available at the doctor's, you

can only use the remainder of your cash, after those extra $

deductions from your paycheck, to get the goji berries and ocean

minerals and raw almonds and durian you'd rather consume instead.
