Guest guest
I knew this in practice before theory as I have a " brain-meter " from the massive brain-stem stroke. About a year ago when I was saying to a friend that BarleyMax was superior to to fresh wheatgrass they asked, " How could something powdered be better than something fresh? " I replied, " I don't know, I only know what I feel in my brain-meter. " Here are the reasons why from Dr. Olin Idol of www.hacres.com .. Grown organically in mineral rich, heavily composted soils, water with mineral rich water from deep below the earth's surface .. Generally when folks drink wheat grass, they are drinking the juice of very young wheat grass, sprouted in trays with a couple inches of soil. After about 10 days to 2 weeks growth, the grass is cut and juiced - providing a simply sugar molecule with little if any nutrition from the soil - basically providing the nutrition inherent in the seed. .. Barley grass seed & alfalfa for our product are planted in the Fall, allowing the seed to germinate and develop a significant root system throughout the late Fall and Winter. In early Spring, the grass begins to sprout and grow very slowly in the cool temps., allowing for the absorption of a vast array of nutrients from the organically enriched soils. This slow growth in the cool temps allow for the development of a very complex sugar molecule providing a nutrient rich grass. (BarleyMax is the only time I would recommend a juice power over fresh juice because of the rapid growth of the wheat grass sprouts with the simple sugar and low nutrient makeup.) .. The barley grass is harvest at the peak of nutrition prior to the jointing stage that would produce the grain. Thus, the grass is free of the grain and contains no gluten (found in the grain). The mature alfalfa is utilized as the alfalfa and very young alfalfa sprouts contain a non protein amino acid L-Canavanine that may be toxic in large amounts. The levels of this amino acid drops dramatically as the grass matures and is not a concern in the mature grass. .. The grasses are cut, bailed and transported immediately to the processing facility so they are not exposed to any heat. It is washed (not sanitized) and juiced. The juice is dried in a low temp. environment so the enzymes and heat sensitive nutrients are not destroyed. .. There is virtually no fiber in the product. It is a 100% pure juice powder with no added fillers, stabilizers, etc .. One of the benefits of cereal grasses is something yet not fully identified called the 'grass juice factor' which is accounted for supplying yet unidentified nutritional elements that account for much of the benefit to the consumer. .. Grasses can support optimal growth and development of large mammals such as horses and cows for a full lifetime when the animals are allowed to graze on them naturally apart from man's interference. Grasses are a complete food for these animals. .. BarleyMax may be taken dry or with water or juices. Since it is a 100% juice powder, the nutrients have been released from the cellular structures of the grasses and are readily available for absorption regardless of the way they are consumed. .. BarleyMax is an alkaline forming juice. .. Many green juice powders contain whole grass fiber which cannot be digested by man's digestive system, thus leaving the nutrients locked in the fibers. Most juice powders are processed in a way that most of the enzymes and heat sensitive nutrients are destroyed. .. Growing and processing are the key factors that make BarleyMax superior to other concentrated green products.
